Thanks a Bunch

I saw the lovely photo and colour inspiration over at Winnie & Walter blog and had a idea of something I wanted to try.

I saw someone on the 'net who had used a Hero Arts stamp for a peony.  So thought I'd try it out.

Thanks a bunch

I stamped the largest circle from Hero Arts Brush strokes set in Picked Raspberry distress ink onto some watercolour paper.  I then wet it and swirled the waterbrush through it.  Once it dried, I over stamped with the same stamp again in the distress ink.  The leaves also a Hero Arts stamp were stamped with Hero Arts shadow ink and coloured with the waterbrush.   Then the gorgeous Winnie & Walter big sentiment set was used for the focal sentiment.  Just adore the two sets I have... so versatile.   I matted onto some soft yellowy card and a white base.  Added some pink gems to finish.

Just about ready to head off for our long weekend away.

Decoupage cards

I picked up issue #124 of Papercraft Inspirations the other day and it had a great decoupage kit ~ Hugs With Henry.  They images are adorable and the PP very sweet.    I decided to CASE the samples in the magazine.

First up I used a cute little bunny image

Bunny Decoupage.

I trimmed all the PP's and matted onto the kraft card and then after punching holes, I hand stitched around all the layers.  I did the decoupaging and then used the Wink of Stella to add some glitter to the bunny and the flower.  I added a little Cuttlebug tag stamped with the cute as sentiment stamps from a Winnie & Walter's set.

My next one used a puppy image

Puppy Decoupage

I used a Spellbinders die to cut the main image.  Luckily the second layer included the flower so I could have it hanging over the top.  I used a Fancy label die for the mat.  Once again, I used some of the little sentiments from a Winnie & Walter set.

I've got a third one with some glossy accents on it drying and am ready to start  number four.   As we are heading off to the beach tomorrow evening for the long weekend, I might take the kit with me.  Otherwise, I've just got two new books on my Kindle.  The forecast is for a cold wet weekend, so snuggled up reading sounds like just the ticket!

A touch of Vintage

Today over at Die Cut Divas, we are all working with with a lovely image from A Day for Daisies.   And you can have it too as it's a freebie which you can get here.

Here is my version of the stamp

I printed the image and coloured with Copics.  I used an embossing folder to emboss the edge and then rubbed some white Gelato to highlight the embossing.  I then added some paper flowers with gem centres and some die cut leaves.

Hop over the the blog to see what the other Divas came up with.

Happy Everything.

The cue word at CAS-ology this challenge is Flower.  I'm a fan of CAS cards so I thought I'd have a go.  I have a new die from Couture Creations that I hadn't used.  It is a rose  so I used it for my card.

CAS-olgy - Cue word Flower

I die cut the rose once from orange and once from green card.  I then trimmed the stem off and added to the rose.  I layered onto some peachy card then onto a white base.  I added the Winnie & Walter sentiment which I gold embossed.  Added a few dots of Stickles.

I was a really like how it turned out.

Thanks again to all my followers and those who leave me a message.  I appreciate all of you.

Fun with Flowers

I seem to be in a floral mood this weekend.  My last few cards have all been on a floral theme.    I wanted to get a couple of last minute entries into the Hero Arts sketch challenge using some watercolour techniques.  Both the following cards used Sketch #2

HA Sketch #2

This one used the Hydrangea stamp and Distress and Tombow markers to colour up the stamp and water to activate the inks to blend.  Sentiment was white embossed.  I added to a dry embossed card for some texture.

Dogwood

I used a similar technique with the Dogwood stamp for this one.  The pink was a Marvy Marker and the green a Distress marker.  For the tag I traced around a Tim Holtz die cut tag and then hand cut it around the flowers.  Added the faux stitching and some gems.  Very CAS for this one.  As it is CAS I will enter into the CAS-olgy challenge Cue Word Flowers.
