This week I saw a video from Natasha Foote and today I watched a FB Live from Therese Calvrid - and over the last couple of weeks I tried it myself.</p><p>Both my samples used 3D embossing folders from Altenew</p><p>First up - using the Dreamy Daylilies </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMcR6HgkLpSWQ7hduogaYfe872Psf6C31Z9nMq1LEe5YCMErCOsu88Bf3-cHIbOivGTgsICdOHJd5Il52Tew070Zeh5HHb0HpRTmz4sLGF9NCLyEqWXxdKaL29mhGcR85vjTSITVvMNJCqwDt0hIqkJnyyacRlCwrk3QF6a9HX1TwmAaujR6ZE3HRCLI4/s1442/IMG_5445w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1442" data-original-width="1252" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMcR6HgkLpSWQ7hduogaYfe872Psf6C31Z9nMq1LEe5YCMErCOsu88Bf3-cHIbOivGTgsICdOHJd5Il52Tew070Zeh5HHb0HpRTmz4sLGF9NCLyEqWXxdKaL29mhGcR85vjTSITVvMNJCqwDt0hIqkJnyyacRlCwrk3QF6a9HX1TwmAaujR6ZE3HRCLI4/w556-h640/IMG_5445w.jpg" width="556" /></a></div><p>I embossed white card and then flipped it over and used yellow and green inks to colour the debossed flowers and leaves. Next took black ink and swipe the pad across the card. The black ink hits the higher areas. The die cut sentiments are from Altenew Versatile Greetings die set. </p><p>Second card is done exactly the same way - using Altenew Decorative Florals embossing folder </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6Fe0DKrTI7gso7iv-OEWmRlqCHpsj7t5HZd4uFTT2HH1Z8jpfnak4yIXSwiYP-6jjulpcVyhfjueNA7rSgOM5jr4wcLpYJsmUzxnNjPhi51lArsN9PO9RuRBHinwGgwCGqqAbHoVatUQ2bWtR6Qf3g3J7Gnm-ZEaMRmnUywcuYN8lmOsNFoQpRUY719w/s1602/IMG_5586w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1602" data-original-width="1414" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6Fe0DKrTI7gso7iv-OEWmRlqCHpsj7t5HZd4uFTT2HH1Z8jpfnak4yIXSwiYP-6jjulpcVyhfjueNA7rSgOM5jr4wcLpYJsmUzxnNjPhi51lArsN9PO9RuRBHinwGgwCGqqAbHoVatUQ2bWtR6Qf3g3J7Gnm-ZEaMRmnUywcuYN8lmOsNFoQpRUY719w/w564-h640/IMG_5586w.jpg" width="564" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div>This time I used some Distress Oxide Ink - Chipped Sapphire ink for the background and Altenew Fresh Dye inks for the debossed areas. It has been a bit of a dismal day... woke to no power, so read for a bit, before heading to two suburbs north to have breakfast before doing our grocery shopping. By the time we got home it was raining but the power was back on! It kept raining on and off so headed to the craft room for the afternoon. </p><p>And yeah, this time I made a blue bird. My card was inspired by <a href="https://heartshugsandflowers.blogspot.com/2024/03/spring-blessings.html" target="_blank">this beautiful card from Lin</a><span> </span></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiri3tddf25UEeNlOxJzwA7aX_jX-Pi-NBAArVY-OgIJedu86U7p6Enk0SaOMabl91XN7aig0R8p_ZUIGjDHWqhQxrCv4Frt14eZW6y6TOj1ecRli_McZnXoVNC-zcnzn-fiM4Gwvr7RvYJqWOFpIquvWJ3KFPlSDwQ3t4C3HQvHlVWUpp7kmCvvlzf97s/s1591/IMG_5555w.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1591" data-original-width="1443" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiri3tddf25UEeNlOxJzwA7aX_jX-Pi-NBAArVY-OgIJedu86U7p6Enk0SaOMabl91XN7aig0R8p_ZUIGjDHWqhQxrCv4Frt14eZW6y6TOj1ecRli_McZnXoVNC-zcnzn-fiM4Gwvr7RvYJqWOFpIquvWJ3KFPlSDwQ3t4C3HQvHlVWUpp7kmCvvlzf97s/w580-h640/IMG_5555w.jpg" width="580" /></a></div><p></p><p style="text-align: left;"></p><p style="text-align: left;">I loved the design Lin used, so I cased it. I die cut an arch (Hero Arts Infinity Arches die) and used Gina K Tapestry embossing folder. I still had my Distress Oxides out... The background panel was made with Speckled Egg spritzed with some Shimmer Spary - Frost. In real life it is so shimmery. I stamped the Couture Creations sentiment directly to the panel. I die cut the bird and used Evergreen Bough, Salty Ocean to colour up the bird. The beak and eye were done with Altenew Charcoal Suit grey ink. I die cut Pinkfresh Studio Curvy leaves and blended Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide. I used only part of the biggest die. I used some Scrapbook.com 3D adhesive strips to add dimension to the frame and used some 3D dimensionals to pop up the bird. Some little blue gems from my stash finished the card. </p><p></p><p style="text-align: left;">I'm entering this into the <a href="https://timeoutchallenges.blogspot.com/2024/03/challenge-259-special-collaboration.html" target="_blank">Time Out Challenge and Just Us Girls</a> collaboration challenge - Birds of a Feather. </p><p style="text-align: left;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEic7xu1nLDGt9LXQcyzdTZAatCXJSdagdx0S5htmocpoqTNeV4zwAkg0W5cEyN_bLn1HYr0HDbJaGvUWXOseLRAMha1drT-DDo3rd5r3y4r54z_yvUdrA0hL-PtCZElWnP80b80eShU_6ID2cU1DO7q2Hrgd7NLGAhgj-y9AGm6jlhu_H-H1mqQLhn_TEc/s320/Badge%20TO%20Challenge%20259%20Collaboration%20JUGS.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="196" data-original-width="320" height="122" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEic7xu1nLDGt9LXQcyzdTZAatCXJSdagdx0S5htmocpoqTNeV4zwAkg0W5cEyN_bLn1HYr0HDbJaGvUWXOseLRAMha1drT-DDo3rd5r3y4r54z_yvUdrA0hL-PtCZElWnP80b80eShU_6ID2cU1DO7q2Hrgd7NLGAhgj-y9AGm6jlhu_H-H1mqQLhn_TEc/w200-h122/Badge%20TO%20Challenge%20259%20Collaboration%20JUGS.jpeg" width="200" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Hope there is some crafting in your weekend. </div></div><br /></div><br /><br /> <p></p>Dawn Thttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10422763962118606379noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4804779928894505260.post-2950551643298913822024-03-22T21:00:00.005+13:002024-03-23T16:29:39.951+13:00Bird on a Branch<p> It's been a busy week... haven't had much time to craft... but finished work early. During the week I saw that Scrapbook Central was having a class by Chick Mitchell. As this is in Wellington (8 hours south of me) I can't go... but Chick has designed some cards with a bird and some beautiful backgrounds. I contacted her and found the bird was from Memory Box. Of course I had to get it! And it arrived yesterday late afternoon. So after signing off my computer (working from home day!) and before doing the housework, I popped into the craft room and had a play. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmqlBTaN6PfuRc1xnddjbFyRZQrpZh-QeTbqw8gaJjnjz4c8F8Q3-cwMI7X23tCh6D8lOWIWAZUhyphenhyphenV0xcwfGeJ8aub9WMibFutiY3pXRSyZMd7Swl__-wwpIyf3xPcwQCrHcMcr6tGfLYitmM6bKZsS-_I8RkrIu02YtDd7BVojJNI2xkvTD3xmguVkm8/s1236/IMG_5549w.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1236" data-original-width="1084" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmqlBTaN6PfuRc1xnddjbFyRZQrpZh-QeTbqw8gaJjnjz4c8F8Q3-cwMI7X23tCh6D8lOWIWAZUhyphenhyphenV0xcwfGeJ8aub9WMibFutiY3pXRSyZMd7Swl__-wwpIyf3xPcwQCrHcMcr6tGfLYitmM6bKZsS-_I8RkrIu02YtDd7BVojJNI2xkvTD3xmguVkm8/w562-h640/IMG_5549w.jpg" width="562" /></a> </div><p>I started by putting the little birdie together. I die cut with some 160gm Fabriano paper. It's a light cream colour (although the packaging says white) It cuts like butter. I used inks from Altenew's Tea Party ink set to add colour to the layers with a touch of some brown to darken parts. The branches, flowers and leaves are from Spellbinders - Layered Cherry Blossom die set. I added a touch of the lightest red inks to the creamy dies. Used some rose gold metallic card for the centres. My background was a variation on a technique that Chick taught at SENZ craft fair last July. Used a chipboard panel of leaves. I inked them with some Distress Oxide in Speckled Egg and spritzed and laid it onto my panel. I then blended some of the same ink through the panel like a stencil and finally just added some of the ink onto the panel. Just love the look I achieved. Die cut a scalloped panel from Gina K Master Layouts 4 and trimmed the panel to fit inside. Added the branches, flowers and leaves and the little birdie. Finished with a pre-printed sentiment from Creative Expressions Woodies.</p><p>I can't wait to try different colour combos for this little bird. I scoped out Pinterest and have got a few samples on my board.</p><p>Entering into Darnell's <a href="https://mynbus.blogspot.com/2024/03/nbus-challenge-60.html" target="_blank">NBUS challenge</a> - as it is the first outing for the die</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6qczJVnJn4q0DmI85zp4kcp6ATWW9J03ZTJrYIrFEha9fXC1Oo_i_v0aONwIelUddoir3nnztXiMbMktxw2Yk7P-imVTj3MK96jqTSCN4Vy63rCOYfzH2W7aa5Jrn7NxN2z4sOX0v1LexFnp1a7_8SV73zhy7JDoHWHsuG6_Suj0mIFjS5FK-pb_XLzg/s293/small%20USE%20THIS%20ONE%20NBUS%20participants%20badge%20with%20URL%20(1).jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="215" data-original-width="293" height="147" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6qczJVnJn4q0DmI85zp4kcp6ATWW9J03ZTJrYIrFEha9fXC1Oo_i_v0aONwIelUddoir3nnztXiMbMktxw2Yk7P-imVTj3MK96jqTSCN4Vy63rCOYfzH2W7aa5Jrn7NxN2z4sOX0v1LexFnp1a7_8SV73zhy7JDoHWHsuG6_Suj0mIFjS5FK-pb_XLzg/w200-h147/small%20USE%20THIS%20ONE%20NBUS%20participants%20badge%20with%20URL%20(1).jpg" width="200" /></a></div><div><br /></div>and <a href="https://justusgirlschallenge.blogspot.com/2024/03/just-us-girls-718-in-collaboration-with.html" target="_blank">Just Us Girls - in Collaboration with Time Out Challenges </a>- Birds of a Feather<div><br /><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiD2KU0k8HF4X2Vj61i_dWQXYOOV4I-r2M9pRfffcn1dVTKOcqccCbial5QuGjIE8XGYLRrXO0pn5tlJKPnSg22vKEoGW3fWoFiUMjdteiBRfJ_ZoU4rYyjwYFddVctGeoj1799xDY-fk1P1gYKJk4L7hAqR31wo1jGaQRgP7XE0ror6nfrsWI-2kARrPs" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="196" data-original-width="320" height="122" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiD2KU0k8HF4X2Vj61i_dWQXYOOV4I-r2M9pRfffcn1dVTKOcqccCbial5QuGjIE8XGYLRrXO0pn5tlJKPnSg22vKEoGW3fWoFiUMjdteiBRfJ_ZoU4rYyjwYFddVctGeoj1799xDY-fk1P1gYKJk4L7hAqR31wo1jGaQRgP7XE0ror6nfrsWI-2kARrPs=w200-h122" width="200" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><p></p></div></div>Dawn Thttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10422763962118606379noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4804779928894505260.post-25022332181724243142024-03-17T20:38:00.001+13:002024-03-17T20:38:38.490+13:00Craft Roulette #206 <p> I managed to see the Craft Roulette show live yesterday ... </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvOTQpROQSykABsWHReW32bwgHy4jAxTIsWVcXhTLgR-nZ5sAD5X6gU9ljGGKd5XfSBMMOgEIwWxmQskNvevip8ap2KrID1WYjyghrcFRM2o5Wsnjz1NXsh4v4Et95xSQfMP4Ia_BGo3IeOd4Z3StWYTkAcHw3WwRJ7zczsBWdElwFrmLkFRBfJBI6cOc/s640/Screenshot%202024-03-16%20173314.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="178" data-original-width="640" height="111" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvOTQpROQSykABsWHReW32bwgHy4jAxTIsWVcXhTLgR-nZ5sAD5X6gU9ljGGKd5XfSBMMOgEIwWxmQskNvevip8ap2KrID1WYjyghrcFRM2o5Wsnjz1NXsh4v4Et95xSQfMP4Ia_BGo3IeOd4Z3StWYTkAcHw3WwRJ7zczsBWdElwFrmLkFRBfJBI6cOc/w400-h111/Screenshot%202024-03-16%20173314.png" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Great parameters this week! I was inspired by a video from <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_JW3DNBgVI" target="_blank">Natasha Foote </a> - making a background with just one ink.... mine was a very old Hero Arts ink called Cup o' Joe. I've had it for around 10 years.., and it still going well. I smooshed it onto my craft mat and spritzed with water and dipped my Fabriano 160gms paper. Dried and dipped again. Then using a couple of lids to stamp circles and used a Catherine Pooler stamp set - Birds of a Feather to added some script and the Love postage stamp. Vintage colours ✓ I added a lace border using a Hero Arts wooden stamp called Lace Flower Cluster embossed with Ranger Vintage Pearl powder. - Lace on the Base ✓ It wasn't showing up so well... I added some extra ink blending to make it stand out. Gave the background a bit of an ombre look. I die cut a leaf cluster from the Fabriano paper with a Pinkfresh Curvy Leaves die. I added a little bit of ink blending to the leaves. That is my plant element.✓ My sentiment is from a Lawn Fawn stamp and die set - Magic Messages. Again cut with the Fabriano paper and ink blended. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Finally added a some little Hero Arts gems hearts to the centre flowers of my lace - Heart element ✓</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">And today - I made this one...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMcK1GWAV-wqW2nMHIFQQappi6avyFa2uS2bvQx1V84BsxtlQoxVGY6rLHmqscHO6rcmGPS3t1QeXhGy9LXDEt2EN59n4G63_BO-b_sBfIh7MxhBjZda3zbYHs5MCB7gKyN-3BSWUFUfXERy8-vUI8IfYQ50XsJNVriBUV1qGNznDrAd8BoxwbLzpGfO4/s1804/IMG_5531W.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1804" data-original-width="1302" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMcK1GWAV-wqW2nMHIFQQappi6avyFa2uS2bvQx1V84BsxtlQoxVGY6rLHmqscHO6rcmGPS3t1QeXhGy9LXDEt2EN59n4G63_BO-b_sBfIh7MxhBjZda3zbYHs5MCB7gKyN-3BSWUFUfXERy8-vUI8IfYQ50XsJNVriBUV1qGNznDrAd8BoxwbLzpGfO4/w462-h640/IMG_5531W.jpg" width="462" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I've been seeing lots of cards using a birdcage and flowers... so that was my inspiration. My patterned paper gave me a vintage vibe. It was an A4 size so I cut it down into a 4" x 5.25" panel. ✓ Used the same lace stamp and embossed it with the Vintage Pearl powder, ✓I have a very old Tim Holtz/Sizzix Bigz Die of a birdcage and bird. I used some of the Fabriano paper ( it's a lovely light cream colour) to cut the die. Added some gold gems along the bottom of the birdcage and a little bow from a bit of burlap. My little grey heart from Altenew is added just under the bow ✓ And finally my plant element is the flowers and leaves.✓ The big green leaves are the Pinkfresh Curvy Leaves and the flowers are from the Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms. I had them cut from some water colour paper and used Jasart Voyager Metallic paints to colour them. I added a pre-printed sentiment from Creative Expressions - Everyday Wordies.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">It was such a fun card to make. I did some earlier in the day and the hubby and I meet up with our son and Grace at our local pub - The British Isles Inn just up the hill from us. The boys had their glass of Guiness - to celebrate St Patrick's Day! The pub was quite full of people dressed in green. And there was a bank singing Irish songs. Grace loved the music. Florence didn't come with them as she is - unwell... ear infection and chest infection - poor wee mite.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Happy St Patrick Day </div></div>Dawn Thttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10422763962118606379noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4804779928894505260.post-79370775486839607692024-03-16T21:00:00.037+13:002024-03-17T21:30:45.771+13:00Easter cards for the Grandies <p> It's time for me to share my sample for Sweet Stampin' Challenge.... I only have two Distress Sprays in Brushed Pewter and Tarnished Brass. I tried my Lindy's Gang Mica sprays but they are all very muted colours. I added a splotch of Adirondack Color Wash in Purple Twilight. But my panel of mixed media paper was very pale and blah looking with a few blob of purple. My yesterday did not go as I planned... happily though!</p><p>I did watch a couple of the sessions from Card Makers Success Summit.... one in particular from Tiffany Solorio using Distress Sprays. I only have two distress sprays - brushed pewter and tarnished brass . Tiffany used all sorts of pretty colours and did heaps of layers. I pull out my Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays - but they are all very muted colours - added a splotch of an Adirondack Color Wash in Purple Twilight - but my panel of mixed media paper was very pale and blah looking. Watch out for another post with what I did with it! Any who I had great plans to try out some more cards from some of the sessions..... </p><p>But... my son texted to say he and the girls were on their way over to visit.... so my Saturday afternoon was spend playing in the craft room with Grace and on the floor with Florence...</p><p>I did get a message from Suna - to whom I sent a card in my NZ swap group. It was my turn to chose a challenge - and Fractured Cards was what I chose. Here is the card I made and sent to her. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjjFyhW-A3A-UfLV9AtFwkJ977F2reF5_M9K-Tpm6Hld-ntVFnBIwYOszCqnxRiJaJdYb6QQRJejkaQ9tbi5SrLiEdyyNScneF18iWVMf0iXGZRyvFj81ZFTDHc7TA10KRvfO8nS0j2QsINeMp52VOstZ1QipqTmwcmX9InME3BzH3Vnq_xGQLweHNfMo/s1444/IMG_5434w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1444" data-original-width="1258" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjjFyhW-A3A-UfLV9AtFwkJ977F2reF5_M9K-Tpm6Hld-ntVFnBIwYOszCqnxRiJaJdYb6QQRJejkaQ9tbi5SrLiEdyyNScneF18iWVMf0iXGZRyvFj81ZFTDHc7TA10KRvfO8nS0j2QsINeMp52VOstZ1QipqTmwcmX9InME3BzH3Vnq_xGQLweHNfMo/w558-h640/IMG_5434w.jpg" width="558" /></a></div><p>I started with some papers from DCWV= Ba;; & Bloom paper. I picked it up recently on sale. Just love the touches of foil on it. I used some white card for my centre square. I then used cream card and gold peelcraft lines for the fracture lines. I used some of the flowers from Spellbinders Geo Floral Frame die set - cut with some pink card from Scrapbook.com Sprinkles paper pack, I die cut the leaves from some 160gm Fabricano paper and used a varied of Altenew green inks to blend over them. Fussy cut the butterfly from some of the same paper pack. The sentiment is from Altenew Engraved Flowers stamp set. And a few metallic gems finished the card. Suna has let me know she got it and loved it. </p><p>And here's why not much got done yesterday </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFtycqGylgWnwCQZZVuw2YaR3G0o7vqQK0R5HPeWSbeXbsoCxDVA6YzFbbLT1jl-qKZ7nh1eHY5RX48RkAkw1XbjAcf40DB980xAVT4XljGyQmRZke32iSSUmfSOxOGOMIHO2QNNO9m_IX6aPadnMfck5MjLtqLYfFzuMWILWBf-a-4tc8T__eFY5TwRU/s2016/IMG_5484.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2016" data-original-width="1512" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFtycqGylgWnwCQZZVuw2YaR3G0o7vqQK0R5HPeWSbeXbsoCxDVA6YzFbbLT1jl-qKZ7nh1eHY5RX48RkAkw1XbjAcf40DB980xAVT4XljGyQmRZke32iSSUmfSOxOGOMIHO2QNNO9m_IX6aPadnMfck5MjLtqLYfFzuMWILWBf-a-4tc8T__eFY5TwRU/s320/IMG_5484.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Grace - playing with some Hero Arts Rub-ons</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqj0RwTiDIOCvIDnHLeLWP6eumqfYXUmVr_h08h-MExIU_9GSIBSid4w-f5RVu127Paye5rVk_WzCZIAFlCnYb5yIDmSZjxqfDGj9CIbpDDHCLvOL6i8IsKH3mpfySZ4BWCpHYL9fDFQU4VDMYn1Hp4vDSfEsARkug4NKlOdO8P_TV5G2rN6nxc-fAsAQ/s2016/IMG_5487.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2016" data-original-width="1512" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqj0RwTiDIOCvIDnHLeLWP6eumqfYXUmVr_h08h-MExIU_9GSIBSid4w-f5RVu127Paye5rVk_WzCZIAFlCnYb5yIDmSZjxqfDGj9CIbpDDHCLvOL6i8IsKH3mpfySZ4BWCpHYL9fDFQU4VDMYn1Hp4vDSfEsARkug4NKlOdO8P_TV5G2rN6nxc-fAsAQ/s320/IMG_5487.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIS3zFiYx6zktdacencnTKPX5c5KDiY_24Z0L7vBPrc9aNTS_fUHM9H8nOGSTrQSdpYYTKFRvg2oOdOLEw_kH-uxBoCf-49wFnd2540ye1QPYrcmWjKoLtpQmu60eiHMy1EXcrp-kof_1szrXmLp5f8d7pyksHorH_DTSztoNuCd_0eE3yo9ooQDCDHa8/s2016/IMG_5488.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2016" data-original-width="1512" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgIS3zFiYx6zktdacencnTKPX5c5KDiY_24Z0L7vBPrc9aNTS_fUHM9H8nOGSTrQSdpYYTKFRvg2oOdOLEw_kH-uxBoCf-49wFnd2540ye1QPYrcmWjKoLtpQmu60eiHMy1EXcrp-kof_1szrXmLp5f8d7pyksHorH_DTSztoNuCd_0eE3yo9ooQDCDHa8/s320/IMG_5488.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Florence exploring Nanny and Pop's house.</div><br /><p><br /></p>Dawn Thttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10422763962118606379noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4804779928894505260.post-47068772599234706252024-03-08T21:48:00.001+13:002024-03-08T21:48:04.902+13:00Friday fun - Two cards - two challenges.<p> HI there. I managed to make two cards today, in my breaks from work and after work. Perks of working from home -early starting and finishing! </p><p>My first card came about as on my Facebook post of one of my lily cards, I mentioned that I was going to do pink lilies and one of my commentor asked if I had done it. So I decided to make a card for The Flower Challenge with pink lilies. Their challenge is to use a square card. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1yuBvIGfsOY-QkqGXDtbGRJh7ptea_fvl5igNu_S93qRss_rNaHMmZfn1o_Selt24bnMZc_ZjXQU6zB7RlglBkAnHtismSAZ5CmDJn0uRI2eQf_qXf7L_700OKULewT6o8MrTM4f60_8SPr-Rhvp1u6umSr2bRLPtD5B6gEa-A59vSSwQ9sbfax9ToY8/s1547/IMG_5473w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1547" data-original-width="1359" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1yuBvIGfsOY-QkqGXDtbGRJh7ptea_fvl5igNu_S93qRss_rNaHMmZfn1o_Selt24bnMZc_ZjXQU6zB7RlglBkAnHtismSAZ5CmDJn0uRI2eQf_qXf7L_700OKULewT6o8MrTM4f60_8SPr-Rhvp1u6umSr2bRLPtD5B6gEa-A59vSSwQ9sbfax9ToY8/w562-h640/IMG_5473w.jpg" width="562" /></a></div><p>I cut the square die from Gina K Master Layout 3 and embossed it. Used Altenew Pink Pearl and Coral Berry for the flowers and Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades for the leaves. I used a Prismacolor pencil to add the colour for the stamen and to add extra texture lines on the flowers and leaves. Finished with a little Easter Wishes sentiment from a Verve stamp set. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvPinQd0myjnUPqeovstVDfkrBEuPUxcG25JH8H515yQy1Q_nC1bIA6K-QpgojMi6RqzIramvGvpXrxPieRVVwoDU6a8y4CHr697xi3smgiObAK5xU_Wnp9Ipo8wnY0ES-kPFARYHJh7E-bZJx8Zh3DRzzNj3-t1xkT3omRlwI3dmjELOl8aLUisoS0q4/s640/2024-3%20March%20-%20Square%20Card-001.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="400" data-original-width="640" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjvPinQd0myjnUPqeovstVDfkrBEuPUxcG25JH8H515yQy1Q_nC1bIA6K-QpgojMi6RqzIramvGvpXrxPieRVVwoDU6a8y4CHr697xi3smgiObAK5xU_Wnp9Ipo8wnY0ES-kPFARYHJh7E-bZJx8Zh3DRzzNj3-t1xkT3omRlwI3dmjELOl8aLUisoS0q4/w320-h200/2024-3%20March%20-%20Square%20Card-001.png" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">My second card is for the Christmas Kickstart Challenge.- Get your Grinch on. Use Green </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I have been hoarding some Penny Black Masterpieces Made Simple printed card panels. I got two sets of the Aglow ones - there are 4 panels in each pack. They are so beautiful. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwPlfgGJ8Hg9Gc6vjhdM7GlLc_N054bGyoGyeJ_vrPGfx0WfiU0NmaK_Q34YB0H2IDrP7Apxb2F1nualNmu718B3U6NyRyKrM0w3i1xDZuFZ3JjNVU8ltD6qP9LA6pyQXNzTgNBMtYUzrCWkqlltPPhOr3fDFImJCaICE77q9QNZKaVIUos5S_2Dsir9o/s1776/IMG_5476w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1776" data-original-width="1272" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwPlfgGJ8Hg9Gc6vjhdM7GlLc_N054bGyoGyeJ_vrPGfx0WfiU0NmaK_Q34YB0H2IDrP7Apxb2F1nualNmu718B3U6NyRyKrM0w3i1xDZuFZ3JjNVU8ltD6qP9LA6pyQXNzTgNBMtYUzrCWkqlltPPhOr3fDFImJCaICE77q9QNZKaVIUos5S_2Dsir9o/w458-h640/IMG_5476w.jpg" width="458" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I glued the panel to some dark green card from Scrapbook.com - Sprinkles pad and then die cut the Waffle Flower Postage die. I then layered some green card under before adding to my white card base. The sentiment is from Waffle Flower's Star Snowflake set. Just love the simple CAS look. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBoEYQ3Rok4SAIU6aA49xum0UUb1EF2HEjnfBfRob7TZVF5HeudpOb5tqE7JlIpkI4cf6TPs8gI5OL0G3qI4v2gvhazoB5hKe1uZKs9-ZKxk5abKMVd4LfigsZkESI-VSukEM1ReDvZB-Kf8NlTlW4JcASVKkZyK-iWAZtoRjUIY5E6sfWX2Pu77EOXpw/s400/%2384.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="225" data-original-width="400" height="181" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBoEYQ3Rok4SAIU6aA49xum0UUb1EF2HEjnfBfRob7TZVF5HeudpOb5tqE7JlIpkI4cf6TPs8gI5OL0G3qI4v2gvhazoB5hKe1uZKs9-ZKxk5abKMVd4LfigsZkESI-VSukEM1ReDvZB-Kf8NlTlW4JcASVKkZyK-iWAZtoRjUIY5E6sfWX2Pu77EOXpw/w320-h181/%2384.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I'm going to be crafting my heart out tomorrow. I got new dies and inks last week and on Sunday I played. My last Krafters Cart purchases were Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms and Altenew Fresh Die inks - Sweet Dreams - so thought I could combine the two.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgX0ItNtCWNdDKFtJn5JAV9YQZmsbqaztDWOtuio0s8z2Z2TMQra003ZO6WmF6vwO7Cdjn3ZBxamf2pu7mOcO-zFAJPuMf1Zc0GY7rvfbAGRWWdXv1sDSbQQ-Ga0D4GQQiPmk_DOSJvChrT4N_q6yPpZXTWN-mPMVfEKf-Ix4adzFMPilj20SRX5zA9lgg/s1629/IMG_5463w.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1629" data-original-width="1354" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgX0ItNtCWNdDKFtJn5JAV9YQZmsbqaztDWOtuio0s8z2Z2TMQra003ZO6WmF6vwO7Cdjn3ZBxamf2pu7mOcO-zFAJPuMf1Zc0GY7rvfbAGRWWdXv1sDSbQQ-Ga0D4GQQiPmk_DOSJvChrT4N_q6yPpZXTWN-mPMVfEKf-Ix4adzFMPilj20SRX5zA9lgg/w532-h640/IMG_5463w.jpg" width="532" /></a></div><div><br /></div>I have been seeing my bloggy friend <a href="https://heartshugsandflowers.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Lin</a> use this die set a bit and finally bit the bullet and got it. I cut it twice from some white card stock and using the Sweet Dreams inks (Dew Drops, Aqualicious, Teal Cave & Galactic Stream) and Fresh Dye inks Eucalyptus and Forest Green with the yellow Crisp Dye ink - Citrus Burst, to blend over the die cuts. I chose to make my focal panel with Spellbinder's Hemstitch Rectangles. I added a sentiment from Altenew's Silk Art stamp set. Finished with a few iridescent gems from Pink Fresh Studio. <div><br /></div><div>As this the first time using the dies I am entering this into the challenge at <a href="https://mynbus.blogspot.com/2024/03/nbus-challenge-60.html" target="_blank">Darnell's NBUS</a></div><div><br /></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgBM3LCy3AGQMsDfuBrTcLxlO1pgiVoHNnjr2ILbrpw9mkkwsg345rkSNbNSDOZI21tUj18jiOEdqO1kYM8Yok_h6DhFu23jBb9g_yC_n983zvDuZuVzZDIfTAW0ATs1HahYttmJWK75uqIXU9A81N4Dn1nQLjudCC4YpJJ0m2Kd_pTdcXhRWQQfETdorQ" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="215" data-original-width="293" height="147" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgBM3LCy3AGQMsDfuBrTcLxlO1pgiVoHNnjr2ILbrpw9mkkwsg345rkSNbNSDOZI21tUj18jiOEdqO1kYM8Yok_h6DhFu23jBb9g_yC_n983zvDuZuVzZDIfTAW0ATs1HahYttmJWK75uqIXU9A81N4Dn1nQLjudCC4YpJJ0m2Kd_pTdcXhRWQQfETdorQ=w200-h147" width="200" /></a></div><div><br /></div>I am also entering this into <span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arimo;">Color Hues #82- Turquoise and Green (thanks Donna for the heads up)</span></div><div><span style="background-color: white; font-family: Arimo;"><br /></span></div><div><span style="font-family: Arimo;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhuI-37HuZ5FyN4m6sYrNr6540qbcchQGG9BmCXBoXxQUWllm4sh0Kf3lNttuEsn4ylp08Ub3Ws3kpt94GarBk2o8b2sMqfSXp_oSXP4Ay3UtqCvYJxGEkkUNGmEcPR-qQ9uNDGNVVwk9K0eUffusDXbzGvkqUgwQZDzAILxZwzRQKBlrsNIOW1bpAU3Jw" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="400" data-original-width="326" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhuI-37HuZ5FyN4m6sYrNr6540qbcchQGG9BmCXBoXxQUWllm4sh0Kf3lNttuEsn4ylp08Ub3Ws3kpt94GarBk2o8b2sMqfSXp_oSXP4Ay3UtqCvYJxGEkkUNGmEcPR-qQ9uNDGNVVwk9K0eUffusDXbzGvkqUgwQZDzAILxZwzRQKBlrsNIOW1bpAU3Jw" width="196" /></a></div><br /><br /></span><br /><p><br /></p></div>Dawn Thttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10422763962118606379noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4804779928894505260.post-53160330736308428072024-03-02T19:42:00.005+13:002024-03-02T19:42:46.848+13:00Craft Roulette #204<p> second post for today.... see my first one <a href="https://dawnsworldnz.blogspot.com/2024/03/woodblock-wednesday-february-2024.html" target="_blank">HERE</a></p><p>*************************************************************************************</p><p>I haven't had time to take part in the Craft Roulette challenge for a few weeks - but today I watched the replay this afternoon. I then took some Speckled Egg Distress Oxide inks and lightly sponged around the mouse. I then added the script stamp from a NZ company called Rubbadubbadoo. I used Altenew's Gray Denim ink for stamp with. Just needed something light. I then got out my Distress inks - Tea Dye, Worn Lipstick, Wilted Violet, Sage Green, Mowed Lawn and added little blots of colour onto my painting palette and used a brush to paint the image. All these colours are inspired by Fairy Tale Princess. My Thinking of You was from a LDRS Creative Anytime Stack - stamped in black and clear embossed before cutting out with the matching die set. Splashed with some water and once it was dried, stamped the Penny Black stamp and the Montarga stamp in Altenew Obsidian ink. I used some Prismacolor Pencils to add the colours to the PB stamp. I still have a LOT of older Hero Arts stamps so pulled out some of my older cling stamps and chose a gorgeous leafy one to make my card. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbOpJSrFD_J1XdnyMzGDTUYgAMGRUSWDmxJzzBpsV2l4g1DhIoAab5H0wpetWGg_ALu8vlVRhc7_Nk-hOhsSxjC52cPwLxnqrdJXrqo3BB-yaWsIN4-yvvxS0YD3NaoKxq9IwybRGW_VrBbnkCrN5beKr4hd7BxU6fAN5y79aHhsLBdAZSc8kOxTOFb78/s1515/IMG_5333dcd.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1515" data-original-width="1217" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbOpJSrFD_J1XdnyMzGDTUYgAMGRUSWDmxJzzBpsV2l4g1DhIoAab5H0wpetWGg_ALu8vlVRhc7_Nk-hOhsSxjC52cPwLxnqrdJXrqo3BB-yaWsIN4-yvvxS0YD3NaoKxq9IwybRGW_VrBbnkCrN5beKr4hd7BxU6fAN5y79aHhsLBdAZSc8kOxTOFb78/w514-h640/IMG_5333dcd.jpg" width="514" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><p>I found this piece of card which I think was made with some Nuvo powders. It's great to use up some of those bits and pieces hanging round my desk. I took the Hero Arts Leafy Vines Cling (circa 2012) and embossed it with Altenew Rose Gold powder. The sentiment was stamped onto a heart die cut. It's from Hero Arts Stamp and Cuts set - Yes. The heart is part of the set and is the perfect size for the sentiment. I traced around the outside of the die and fussy cut to add a mat. </p><p>Do come and join us. </p><p>Dawn & The Divas</p>Dawn Thttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10422763962118606379noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4804779928894505260.post-75558112899555868692024-02-26T19:24:00.004+13:002024-02-26T19:24:51.324+13:00Fractured card tryout.<p> I've been seeing a few Fractured cards around the traps.... and I know that I need to make on for an upcoming swap.... so decided to have a bit of a play to see how it goes. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcFlbjLddr1Oe33f_E_vR3wqx_IbT8qLptbsbXwhwAPOM_hTJtHbtoYHqiQDK3OmaFsaEV-xyRWO_e_BNlcRrqOcWQpDc0eVAaxqxElpkG33CGg-37_nKX5yBS5PPyu18ZXGPLheTLk9F-XgWVxodoUfkAixQrBnJMKyshPS9_ZJczmiiF6xl0MtGweQY/s1440/IMG_5288w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1440" data-original-width="1286" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcFlbjLddr1Oe33f_E_vR3wqx_IbT8qLptbsbXwhwAPOM_hTJtHbtoYHqiQDK3OmaFsaEV-xyRWO_e_BNlcRrqOcWQpDc0eVAaxqxElpkG33CGg-37_nKX5yBS5PPyu18ZXGPLheTLk9F-XgWVxodoUfkAixQrBnJMKyshPS9_ZJczmiiF6xl0MtGweQY/w572-h640/IMG_5288w.jpg" width="572" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Another card using some patterned papers - from the Sunshine Floral Uniti pack. I blended with the inks on my brushes. I then used a dotty stencil from Faith Pocock Studios and some Hero Arts Unicorn White ink with a finger dauber. I added some Memento Gray Flannel ink stamped with a Just Your Next Stamps Mini Star Splatters in two corners. I made my easel base and added a "sweet" cup cake topper. The stamp is from Hero Arts Fabulous Birthday - one of my first Hero Arts stamps. I die cut it and it's mat with some circle dies from Gina K Master Layouts 3 & 7. The birthday sentiment is from a Paper Roses die set and cut with blue card and vellum for the shadow. Finished with some iridescent gems from Pink Fresh Studio. </p><p>This is my 7th submission. </p></div>Dawn Thttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10422763962118606379noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4804779928894505260.post-69823936175954262302024-02-11T20:07:00.001+13:002024-02-11T20:43:36.232+13:00Flowers and Heart<p> The Flower Challenge has restarted for the New Year and being February (the month of Love) the challenge is "<a href="https://theflowerchallenge.blogspot.com/2024/02/the-flower-challenge-88-add-heart.html" target="_blank">Add a Heart</a>" </p><p>I still trying to use patterned paper so I pull out some for my background. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjY1E51_VpvFOmpRaZOaXUdVaYh14SVgpb8NdIjcydtqbV2bgzV9AHiKLS7q-wPoWHceuQruYtMtDOxf855ycMoGzDbVgPs2LNMarzcyTaiWj6jEa2hOrJIEixJLIB8Dcboz9SUrHd5DOAQKNSfO7bja8I9tMtKiegzrulfRjzsSCNoQOvIQ9PABLSO3z0/s1450/IMG_5343w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1450" data-original-width="1214" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjY1E51_VpvFOmpRaZOaXUdVaYh14SVgpb8NdIjcydtqbV2bgzV9AHiKLS7q-wPoWHceuQruYtMtDOxf855ycMoGzDbVgPs2LNMarzcyTaiWj6jEa2hOrJIEixJLIB8Dcboz9SUrHd5DOAQKNSfO7bja8I9tMtKiegzrulfRjzsSCNoQOvIQ9PABLSO3z0/w536-h640/IMG_5343w.jpg" width="536" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><p>The paper is from a Uniti pack called Sunshine Floral. Love the soft look of this paper. The rest of my card is made up by bits from my "to use" pile. The heart (a Spellbinder's die) and the floral bouquet (Pink Fresh Studio - Artistic Dahlia stamped, stenciled and die cut) have been sitting in the pile for some time. I took Prisma's pencils to add some extra shading to the bouquet and to add around the heart. The sentiment is from a very old Hero Arts set called Yes. I used some Memento Gray Flannel ink. Three little pink gems finished the card perfectly. </p><p>I had a great weekend creating. Yesterday I finally got around to creating the pages for the two new grandchildren to put into frames and made my design card for the 28th of the month. Today I did a card for the Craft Roulette that I will share tomorrow and this one. </p><p> </p>Dawn Thttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10422763962118606379noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4804779928894505260.post-4024071675613953242024-02-04T20:46:00.002+13:002024-02-04T20:46:51.323+13:00Still using up patterned paper - <p> I really am trying hard to use up patterned paper and in my inbox this week was the February SheetLoad of cards from Crafty Al. If you haven't seen her videos do look her up on You Tube. This month's is some A2 cards using 6 x 6 papers. Al took 4 pieces of patterned paper and made 8 cards....</p><p>I decided to take 2 sheets to make 4 cards. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKn-RBwoh2PI5hEETaxF5hrQ8mW7qer5sHYy4L4XPoimkcEXfrAqIiom1QzBAiWxdZtmfLSe8o0mnMaHVpJGw03fk9sztu-6geFjWkA_R0mWExVmWALBt2qDpF7gCapT1U5oRfn2-uKLZL0WVjD0FcqnEqfGQjdXPNn5eyc6ndsh1o7S9L4zWeP1UExbo/s2016/IMG_5310w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1512" data-original-width="2016" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKn-RBwoh2PI5hEETaxF5hrQ8mW7qer5sHYy4L4XPoimkcEXfrAqIiom1QzBAiWxdZtmfLSe8o0mnMaHVpJGw03fk9sztu-6geFjWkA_R0mWExVmWALBt2qDpF7gCapT1U5oRfn2-uKLZL0WVjD0FcqnEqfGQjdXPNn5eyc6ndsh1o7S9L4zWeP1UExbo/w640-h480/IMG_5310w.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><p>I used two sheets from an Anko (KMart) paper pack called Floral. Use up your patterned paper <p> This afternoon I watched Jennifer McGuire's latest video. (see it<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__4hjJM-t_Q" target="_blank"> here</a>) It was all about using up your patterned papers. Boy is that girl talented! Over the last few weeks I've been trying to use up some of my ginormous pile of paper! I had a pack from Uniti (a brand that is local to my Warehouse store) on my desk so decided to try some of Jennifer's ideas. </p><p>Here is what I came up with. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtJ6JgmR5fmzicHrg672nI3x5zAEqM9aRNXkUI0fxWa4m9XtZFlZdMj5etJPv983b8R14RNnMxRi1qd8kEtHrXHMldPUTAP642DANmUthyphenhyphenJxxtSbET2ps4FMQ2_v02A4_Ntn1cKFL9IwYv6UOdHSVxo1VvQUoxEMHYduLRj3AE7ArURvP_s4U4GjJ9amY/s1613/IMG_5280w..jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1613" data-original-width="1235" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtJ6JgmR5fmzicHrg672nI3x5zAEqM9aRNXkUI0fxWa4m9XtZFlZdMj5etJPv983b8R14RNnMxRi1qd8kEtHrXHMldPUTAP642DANmUthyphenhyphenJxxtSbET2ps4FMQ2_v02A4_Ntn1cKFL9IwYv6UOdHSVxo1VvQUoxEMHYduLRj3AE7ArURvP_s4U4GjJ9amY/w490-h640/IMG_5280w..jpg" width="490" /></a></div><div><br /></div>I die cut the Birch Press - Prime Peony Duo die set from one of the papers from the Sunshine Floral pack. I added a little bit of ink around the edges and over the pink paper I used green inks. I then chose a pink marbled background from another paper pack. To ground my flowers I die cut an oval from Gina K Master Layout 1. I then used Altenew Classic Greetings stamp and die set to make the sentiment. I used Altenew Rose Gold embossing powder. I added some layers behind it for dimension. A few gold metallic pearls from Pinkfresh Studios finished off the card. <div><br /></div><div>Been a busy day as I had to go out to buy a new vacuum cleaner and a new mat for in the kitchen. The old vacuum packed a sad yesterday. Spent a bit more than I wanted to but it's a great little machine with great suction and very quiet! </div>Dawn Thttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10422763962118606379noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4804779928894505260.post-79929168113746087972024-02-01T20:33:00.000+13:002024-02-01T20:33:43.529+13:00Amy's Woodblock Wednesday<p> It's time for <a href="https://www.craftee1.com/2024/01/31/january-edition-guest-designer-woodblock-wednesday/" target="_blank">Amy's Woodblock Wednesday Challenge</a> I love getting out my old woodblock stamps - and yes today's are OLD....</p><p>I found a very ancient Stampin' Up set called Fifth Avenue Florals for my sentiment and a 2009 Penny Black stamp called Day Dreams.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAcrm-WBeZhINJ3lPbL7rAmAx3V0eIbaxD_WPruoJIrIqaoLVruX2A51k0t-eju3H1LCkaSmIpAp_f94U9YOA1rQ6DySF8VgHCk8WqGMx21ngUNY-g-nKbVt7hy_Yj7LXQghFcRhqiidNoLISxpvnWwcHHU79fZ_ykpRnULgG8gsKGFdDRidlmbPnWgq8/s1427/IMG_5266wjpg.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1427" data-original-width="1277" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjAcrm-WBeZhINJ3lPbL7rAmAx3V0eIbaxD_WPruoJIrIqaoLVruX2A51k0t-eju3H1LCkaSmIpAp_f94U9YOA1rQ6DySF8VgHCk8WqGMx21ngUNY-g-nKbVt7hy_Yj7LXQghFcRhqiidNoLISxpvnWwcHHU79fZ_ykpRnULgG8gsKGFdDRidlmbPnWgq8/w572-h640/IMG_5266wjpg.jpg" width="572" /></a></div><p>I used a Waffle Flower Deckle die to cut out a stencil. I then taped it to some Hero Arts Vintage Ivory card and used my blender brushes which had Altenew inks on them. Just used the inks that were left on them to make the soft pastel background. I stamped the Penny Black stamp over to the left of the card. I used my Zig Clean Color Brush markers to add a touch of colour. Stamped the sentiment in the lower riight hand side of the card. Some little silver gems finished it off. I matted onto some purple card and added to a white base.</p><p>Really pleased with the results.... and believe it or not... this was the first time I've used the sentiment from the Stampin' Up set! </p><p><br /></p>Dawn Thttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10422763962118606379noreply@blogger.com4
