Playing with New stamps and dies

Over the past couple of weeks, new stamps and dies arrived in my letter box...  StampNation's SOA Lovely Notes collection that I won, and some goodies I bought from Simon Says Stamp.  With all my DT work up to date, I got just to have a play.

My Mojo was feeling a bit low so I had a look at the PDF  guide that came with the SOA box... oh my goodness Catherine and the Design Team out did themselves with creativity.    So a couple of cards from Heather North inspired me to use the Concentric Circles die.

I started by taking my Hero Arts Neon ink cubes and sponging onto a piece of white card.  I then die cut both the coloured card and some black card with the die and inlaid the colours into the black one.  I white embossed the sentiment from the Lovely flowers set.   This was layered onto some Hero Arts Latte card and then a white base.

And today I pulled out Simon Says Stamp Spring Flowers set.  The flowers are so pretty and I decided to do some masking.

I, again, used some Hero Arts Latte card to make a side folding card base and do a one layer card.  I stamped and masked and then used some Copics to colour the flowers.  Added a few white dots and then used the embossing die from Lil' Inkers to added the cut lines.  Due to the card being white on onside and coloured on the other, the lines look like white dash lines.  This was an added bonus.  The sentiment is also a SSS set.    I'm adding this to the SSS Flickr Challenge - Anything Goes and the SSS Wednesday Challenge Anything Goes

It's been a very cold wintery day today so cooked up a big batch of Macaroni Cheese and headed over my son's place for lunch.

Thanks for stopping by today.

It's my day at Die Cut Divas again and I'm doing a Glittery Christmas card.  Our sponsors this month are

I used a Bugaboo Christmas image together with a Spellbinders die as well as a Simon Says Stamp circle die and a Pretty Pink Posh scallop

I used some glittery washi to add my touch of glitter.  I used a sketch that was part of Bugaboo's Christmas in July week early in the month.

thanks for stopping by.  July is almost finished - and it's only another 5 weeks till my little dude comes to visit his Nana and Pop.

Here he is with this Daddy on his first trip to park.

Birthday Bouquet with SOA Lovely Notes

I was very excited when I found out I had won one of the StampNation Stamp of Approval Lovely Notes.  And I am happy to say it arrived nice and promptly.   There is soooo much goodness in the box, I really didn't know where to start.

I had a piece of embossed card sitting on my desk from last weekend and thought some of the pretty Lovely flowers stamped and die cut would make a nice bouquet.

I used a variety of blue and green inks with little purple, from Altenew and stamped and die cut the flowers and leaves.   The sentiment is a Peelcraft sticker.  The embossing folder was one that was a freebie with a magazine earlier this year.  I love the way this came together so quickly.  Still need a bit of practice getting the stamping right in the middle of the dies.

I had the day off today, coughing like mad - but better tonight.  I slept most of the day and then got some DT work done.  Back to work tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hero Arts Flamingo

Over at A2Z  our challenge this month is nice and easy... Anything Goes!  This gave me a chance to play with some new stamps and stencils that arrived this week.

Flamingo

I used some linen texture card and started by using Ombre Metallic ink and the Floral Pattern Stencil (note this is currently on sale at A2Z this month) Did some selective stenciling.  I then stamped the Flamingo with the help of MISTI and some Hero Arts Inks....Soft Cantaloupe. Fresh Peach , Ombre Pink to Red and Soft Granite. I then die cut it with the matching die set.   The water and reeds were stamped with Distress inks.   The sentiment is from the Flamingo set.  I finished with some 3D liquid pearls in Flamingo!

Stamping with MISTI and Altenew flowers....

Saturday I got to spend time crafting with my group of friends.  We haven't meet for quite some time... life  has been busy for all of us.  We had an awesome day catching up with what's been happening with us all, sharing stamps and ideas and of course, a fabulous lunch.  There were 5 of us  this time... a nice number.  I took along a few of newer stamps and the others stamped off a few to make up later. I got onto starting the cards for my commission.. got a production line under way and got 5 done.   Then it was play time.   I showing my friends my MISTI and how you can use it to do stamp layering.

Still practice needed... but getting there.  I used Altenew Inks to do my layering.   I used the "You" set from SOA to stamp the sentiment.  Thanks to Helen who had a perfect piece of purple card to make the mat.

And I did some CASEing.  My friend Suna had given me a beautiful card as part of our NZ technique swap.    Here it is
And she made the envelope as well....  I asked if I could CASE it as I loved the design.

Here is my card

I used the same design, similar washi tapes and I used purple leaves.  I changed up the flower, using one from Altenew Peony Scrolls together with the leaves from the set.  I added a sentiment from Hero Arts. This is heading off overseas to my June CCC partner.

Hope you had a great weekend.  I'm hanging in there to get the latest SOA kit that I won.  I've had notification that it has been posted :-)

Christmas in July over at Bugaboo

Over at Bugaboo's Catch the Bug challenge blog this week there has been a week-long Christmas in July event.  Each day there is a new challenge.    And to make it fun... there is 50% off ALL items in the store.

I have enter some of the challenges..  One of which I share later in the month as I am using it as my sample for Die Cut Divas - Bugaboo are one of our sponsors this month.

Day 4 was a BINGO game

I chose to use the diagonal Stripes, Bugaboo Image and Embossing

I got a Sizzix Flip It die this week, and was giving it a try out.  I cut the base and the panels which I then embossed with a snowflake die.  I printed and coloured my little reindeer and die cut him with a Spellbinders circle die,  The flip side has a white scallop circle to write on.   Added the striped washi tape for my stripe element.

There's less than a day to enter the challenges.   A great way to start the Christmas cards for 2016.  I've printed out a few more BB images, but won't get card done in time.  I'm taking them with me to my Stamp Group.  We haven't meet for over three months so will be great to catch up with my friends.

I'll be working on a commission for 20 Christmas cards.  All the same so will get bit of a production line under way.   I'll do five at a time over the next few weeks.  It's another Flip it card.  Here's the design

My friend requested simple red and white.  The Hero Arts ornament is cut with some metallic red card.   A nice little bonus income to help pay for the purchases over the last little while!   Plus I managed to sell 11 cards at work this week.  Another bonus!

Enjoy your weekend.

Glittery Christmas Cupcake

Hi there.  I'm here to share my Glittery Cupcake Christmas card over at Die Cut Divas.

Our monthly sponsors are

I've made a slightly smaller shaped card today....

My image is a Bugaboo digital stamp - Christmas Cupcake Mistletoe. I printed it onto some Bristol paper and coloured with Tim Holtz distress markers.   Added some glitter, Spectrum Noir sparkle pen and some glossy accents before fussy cutting it.  My background is some watercolour tags, cut with an older Tim Holtz/Sizzix die (no available at DiesRUs but there are lots of amazing dies there to choose from) and trimmed the sides off.  I added some sparkle and shimmer with Sparkle Medium from Imagination Crafts in the colour Welsh Gold.  It is super sparkly.  My sentiment is a WPlus9 one, cut from some shimmer card in a pretty brown.  DiesRUs have an awesome supply of word dies for you.

So looking forward to seeing all your glittery cards in the challenge.  You can add your card here

Purple Peony

Last weekend I did some background using my new Pixie Powders... so today I got around to using one of them

I had stamped Altenew Peony Bouquet over the portion of the background I'd concentrated the purple powder to.   Although it looks simple, layering the different stamps proved to be more difficult than I thought and I didn't quite get it right.  Added some more purple inks to give it a bit more depth.   I decided that all it needed was the die cut sentiment.  It's from Creative Expressions .  One of my purchases last Friday.  I added some washi tape along the top of my panel and then used some fun foam to pop it up.

Hope you have managed to get some crafting done.   It's back to work for me tomorrow as I did not win the BIG Lotto prize this weekend.   I'm going to leave you with a quick photo of Archer.  He's almost 12 weeks now.

Tag You're It! ........ Inspired by Donna Mikasa

While I was visiting some of my blog friend's posts, I came across Donna Mikasa's blog post.
Donna is an amazing card maker and today she is a guest designer over at Tag You're It challenge blog.  I love visiting Donna's Three Umbrellas blog.  She is the Queen of CAS cards.

So here's her inspiration tag

Isn't it just gorgeous.

My inspiration was the background water colouring, her beautiful flowers and her enamel dots...Ok so I've CASE'd her tag!

I started by die cutting a little tag using a Pretty Pink Posh die.  I made my background by scribbling a Timbow marker onto a piece of laminated card, spritzing with water and smooshing my tag onto it.  I did this a few times to get the depth of colour I wanted.  I added some black and clear striped washi and then some stripes of silver glitter washi.  I silver embossed a flower stamp (from a big set of stamps I got with a magazine a couple of months ago) and used Zig markers to colour, then fussy cut.  The sentiment is two stamps from the StampNation Beautiful World kit.  I popped the flower up with foam tape.   I finished with some 3D Pearls.  I picked up a set of 12 colours at the Craft Fair last week.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope your weekend is full of crafting and not much housework!!!!!

Hero Arts with Sparkle Medium.

It's my day at A2Z Scrapbooking to share my inspiration.  Our challenge this month is easy- Anything Goes with Hero Arts.

IMG_1786

I used a Hero Arts Stencil - I used an older one called Swirl but you could use anyone of the stencils available here at A2Z Scrapbooking.  I used some Imagination Crafts Sparkle Medium called Welsh Gold.  It makes a stunning background, so sparkly and glittery.  As the background is so amazing, I did not want to add too much in the way of embellishment.  I used Hello Stamp and Cut  to die cut Hello..  I added the black card to some self adhesive fun foam prior to die cutting to give it some dimension.  The sentiment part was embossed with Ranger platinum powder and trimmed.  The stenciled panel was die cut with a Lil'Inkers die and the Hero Arts  Note card was embossed with the largest die.

I am entering this into the Sparkle challenge at The Mixed Media Card challenge.

Remember if you are in need of any items from the a2z Scrapbooking store  you can use code Dawn15 at checkout to receive 15% off your purchase of $25 or more. June CCC for Sara

My June CCC went to Sara in Cincinnati.  We had a sketch to follow:
or a theme: Friendship, Patriotism or Water
or use buttons

I used two flowers die cut from burlap covered card and added a button to the centre.  The background stamping was a Stampin' Up stamped in yellow ink and smooshed.  Added the sentiment from my Stamp of Approval set by GinaK.  Finished with some glittery washi along the bottom.

Had a very enjoyable winter's weekend at Mangawhai with our friend.  It was a tad cold in the mornings with a bit of frost.

Die Cut Diva's Make it Gliiter

A new month so a new challenge at Die Cut Divas.... Make it Glitter

Our sponsors this month are

My first card for the month uses  a Bugaboo image and a Darice embossing folder.  This one is not available from DiesRUs, but they have lots of other awesome  folders and dies.

In my rush to get this one done on time, I put it upside down in the folder.... but happy accident, I rather like the look of the de-bossed side.   My image was printed onto some Bristol card stock and coloured with Zig watermakers,  I used an old Wink of Stella pen filled with water to spread out my background blue so it is all shimmery and glittery with the extra sparkle still in the pen.   Added some more to parts of the girl and flower and then some glossy accents too.  It's hard to see all the shimmer and glittery goodness but I can assure you, it's there!   As I took my photo, it's not completely secured to the base as the Glossy Accents is still a little wet.

So come and join us with your glitter - be it Kindyglitz, Stickles, Wink of Stella, Spectrum Noir glitter pens, glitter paper or even good old fashion glitter,,, we'd love to see it.

I am entering into the "Anything Goes" at Catch the Bug Challenge blog

As as side, I spend most of the day at SENZ - NZ's largest papercraft fair.  A fabulous day, looking at all the wonderful products available and having to limit my spend to the money on hand!  Hard work when I needed wanted so much.  Picked up Altenew's Peony Bouquet, Tim Holtz Crazy cats plus another set of cat stamps from Katzelkraft, plus a new Fiskars cutter, a T-ruler, a set of 12 Liquid Drops ( like Liquid pearls), 4 Pixie Dust colour bursts and a Happy Birthday die.  Now to find time to play!

Enjoy your weekend.
