Nature at it's worst.....

I know that many of you in the States will have experienced Tornados but here in NZ they are not very common.... but today one swathed it's destructive path very close to me.... I was visiting my friend Sue ( Scrumplecrunch) and just as I was about to leave at 3.00pm her hubby rang to check on her as a tornado was heading through Albany - a mere 3 kms from her place.  As we came out her door we could see it and all the debris being thrown around.  Very scary and then on the way home along the road, about 1 1/5 kms from Sue's I passed a roundabout where the house on my left hand side had lost most of it's roofing tiles, fence and the trampoline from the front yard was on the roof of the house over the right hand side of the road..... Totally freaky.  There were tiles all over the road, the man hole covers were all up and over the place and you could see other houses with damage as well.  The news reports are saying that two people have been killed and others injured.  The roof of the Albany Mall has been damaged.  Isobel was freaking out as she knew her Mum was up at the Mall this afternoon and she couldn't get hold of her on the phone.... but she was fine.  Nature has been at it's worse over the past few months..... floods in Australia, heavy snow and tornadoes in America, Earthquakes in Japan and NZ.... what is the world coming to?   We must take care of it..
So much destruction.

I pray that your part of the world is safe and my prayers to the families affected by this terrible storm

Oh Dawn that is just terrifying! Tornado's happen here too but more out of town so I have been lucky not to worry either. I can't imagine how it must have been driving through all that and knowing how close it was! So happy you are safe.
