Birthday Boys

In my family there are two birthday boys in Sept.  10th is my Dad's birthday and 14th is my brother.   As they live in the same house in Australia, I had to sent off my cards to them early.  I know my Dad's got there in plenty of time, but I didn't get my brother's off till late last week, so expect it might be late.  But never mind, I will share it here.

First off my Dad's card

Happy Birthday Dad

This was a freebie from Bird's Cards that I picked up quite awhile ago via Deirdre's blog.  I printed it out and used Copics to colour.  Sponged around the nestie to give some dimension.  PP by Graphic 45 is perfect to mat it on.   Dad loved this card.

And for my brother.... I had to make this really quickly to get it in the post so pulled out an old favourite for male cards....

Birthday Ferns

Inspiration for this one came from Karen with her card (here).  I used 3 different green distress inks to stamp with, spritzed with some gold Pearlised water.  I then added a few dots of gold stickles.  The sentiment is a sticker from E.A.D. Designs.

Had an outing today with Yvonne... library for some books, supermarket for a few things and then coffee and date scone... nice to get out and about.  The weather has packed in and is cold and wet.... making walking a bit unpleasant, but will have to persevere.

A big thank you too, to all the lovely ladies who have sent me cards.  Much appreciated everyone.  And an order from Simon Says arrived today... just a little one - one stamp, 2 dies and some Picket Fence stain.  Dying to try it out...

PS - Did you know Vicky from www.clips-n-cuts.com is having a $25 giveaway? Just click here to find out

I love that plaid background on your dad's card, Dawn! So fun! And your ferns look beautiful! Glad you had a lovely day with Yvonne and that you are starting to get some of the cards. We all wanted you to know how much we were thinking about you! Hugs! :)

I have the 3 ferns stamp too- don'tcha love that? It does make a nice masculine card.

Sounds like you're doing a bit better each day- glad to hear that :) XX

How topical to make a fern card for your brother in Australia Dawn! Is there a hidden message here? Does he support the AB's or the Wallabies?
Great cards by the way, I have my visitors arriving from Wales on Friday, so a little busy at the moment to make cards.
