Last minute Vintage Christmas

I suddenly realised I needed a card for my parents... HELP.  Australian Simply Cards magazine to the rescue.... I picked up the magazine last night and it had a pack of beautiful Vintage Christmas papers from Meg's Garden.  And instructions for making some cards.  I totally CASE'd one of the examples... just making it slightly smaller and therefore having to move around the elements.

Here's what I came up with....

Vintage Christmas

I decided to have all roses on the card ~ the original has roses and daisies~  I cut out Santa from the panel he was on, and added pop dots to raise him.  Loved how this card turned out.  Have entered into Wee Memories Anything Goes Challenge....

Then Mum said she needed a card for a friend as well.... so out came the papers again...

More vintage Christmas

I made the roses with the strip of paper from the side of the 6x6 paper as I trimmed it for the base.   This one is entered into PaperPlay challenges ~ Christmas

Have been listening to the radio news for the last few hours.... Poor Christchurch has been hit by a number of large earthquakes again this afternoon, after about 5 months of not many.  The first was a 5.8 and then a number of after-shocks including a 5.3.  Lots of liquefaction again... so mud and water everywhere.  Not a lot of damage or injury though, thank goodness.

Wishing you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS and a PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR.

Cheers

Dawn

Oh Dawn, your cards are absolutely gorgeous! Wonderful designs and mix of pps! I love your floral embellishments too! It's terrible to think that there have been yet more earthquakes in Christchurch, hopefully there won't be any more.

Happy Christmas to you and your family:)
