I've decided I want to try to doing some of Tim's Tags. He does a series of 12 tags with different techniques each year. They are amazing. As I don't have many of his dies and embellishments, I will be improvising quite a bit.
Day 1 involved some embossing ~ both dry and using powder and making pine cones. I did the dry embossing bit. Here's what I came up with.
I used the faux letterpress technique with Hero Arts Poo ink. I then rubbed Frost White ink over the raised bits and sprayed with Shimmer Spritz. I used dies and punches to cut out the greenery and hand cut some holly leaves. To make my pine cones, I used Tim's technique (video here) He has his own die for these, but I used MFT rolled roses dies. Pleased at how they turned out. I also had to improvise with my NOEL... I don't have Tim's die so played around in MS Word. I used WordArt and the font CloisterBlack BT. I printed it out and using my craft knife cut it out. I reduced the kerning on font so the letters were close together. I covered it with Stickles silver. All in all, this didn't turn out too bad. I've entered this into Wee Memories Free for All Challenge this week.
I've made a start on Day 2's tag, as I've had to do more improvising. Still trying to work out whether I will make a deer or do something else on the tag.... we'll just have to wait and see what come about.
Thanks for visiting today.... Note this is my second post of the day..... The Mygrafico post is here.
Not long to Christmas now... so hope you are all organised.
Cheers
Dawn
