National Scrapbook Day Weekend Blog Hop

Happy NSD all!  We are totally excited that you’ve joined us this weekend for this extra special blog hop.  SpiegelMom Scraps and the Southern Girls Challenge Blog owners and Design Teams have united and are aspiring to inspire YOU!  This hop has such wide variety of paper crafting styles and media being used that it’s sure to knock your socks off.   Jody Spiegelhoff, owns SpiegelMom Scraps! And one of her lovely Design Team Sparklers, Louise is an owner of the Southern Girls Challenge Blog.  Louise and Jody thought having their Design Teams join forces for this weekend would rock! I think they are right :-)

So, it’s time to grab your favourite beverage (depending on the time of day where you live), a yummy treat and get ready to click & scroll your way to some fabulous inspiration!

You should have arrived here from SpiegelMom Scraps! blog. If you came here by chance be sure to head over to SpiegelMom Scraps for a list of the hop participants.

Here is my project to inspire you....

I started by covering canvas with Tim Holtz tissue paper.  Next added a layer of gesso.   When this dried I added some Tim Holtz paints.  I used a technique I saw Vicky Papaioannou use... to smear the paint with a damp baby wipe.  I painted the doily with paint in the same way.  The cork corners, were painted with gesso and then yellow and blue paints.   The sentiment was stamped and then clear embossed.  It is from Stamp-It, an Australian company who has their business in Perth.  I got this set when I was there last June.  My butterfly is a Tim Holtz one that was embossed onto vellum and then coloured on the reverse with Copics.  I also randomly stamped parts of the butterfly and another Stamp-It stamp around the edges.   Added some washi tape. Cut a leaf die from some Kaisercraft PP and added some Prima mini roses.  You can purchase the cork chevron's, washi tape and doilies from SpiegelMom Scraps!

Next, I’m sending you over to Julie Blakeman!  Get ready for some beautiful paper crafting!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day
