Morning Asters Birthday

 I've been playing with my new stuff from the weekend and my new Altenew stamps and dies that arrived mid last week.   I've got a family birthday coming up this weekend so combined the floral stamp and die with a technique I learnt at SENZ craft show.

The background panel was made using the chipboard panel I bought.  It comes all combined and can be cut up.  Before that, I used it to make the panel.  I started by adding Distress oxide inks to watercolour paper.  One was Cracked Pistachio and the other piece inked in Peacock Feathers.  I spritzed one of the panels added the chipboard panel and laid the other inked piece face down and ran the lot through my die cut machine.   I darker colour smooshes on the other one and where the chipboard was stays paler.  And the bonus is that the chipboard has beautiful colour on it and can be cut up and used.    While that was drying, I stamped the Altenew Build a Garden Morning Asters and used the matching stencils.  I didn't use all the layers of the stencils, leaving some white spaces. I used ink still on my blending brushes so softer colours.  Cut with the matching die and added to the base.  The sentiment is a pre-printed sentiment from Creative Expressions Everyday Wordies.   

I've done another double panel with this technique - using Chipped Sapphire and Cracked Pistachio.  So lots of panels to use.

It's time for a Craft Fair!

Today is a public holiday here in NZ - to celebrate Matariki - the Maori New Year - rising of the stars of Matariki (also known as Pleidies) and it was day 1 of SENZ - the big craft extravaganza.   My friend Suna, and I headed off to have some fun.  We had booked a class - with Scrapbook Central - using some Celebr8 chipboard leaves.... and both had lists to fulfill.  I got everything on my list - (and more!!!)

Quite the haul - including the new Waffleflower sticky mats! - both in the Misti and Mini Misti sizes. And the new Waffleflower Postage die and the matching Xmas sentiments.  Rosie's Studio had a free stamp and die for VIP entry - which we were... and $2 stamps and mini dies.  Of course after class I had to get another set of the chipboard leaves

A big thanks to Chick Mitchell and Scrapbook Central.   It's an awesome design - and Chick showed us how to emboss with the chipboard before snipping it apart.   And there was a bonus instruction sheet for another technique.   When I got home I used the new sheet of leaves to emboss a few panels of different coloured card before doing some inking.  So a few backgrounds to use. 

And tomorrow I back off to do another class - this time with Krafter's Cart and using some Pinkfresh Studio washi and dies.... can't wait.   Now to find time over the next two weeks till I head off to Perth, to do some playing.
