Saturday stamping.

Yesterday was Stamping Day at Lei's place.  There were 9 of us there and the group had organised with Jacquie from Stampin Up! to come and demonstrate for us. She did a lovely demo card and then we did a make and take of a set of 4 mini cards.  When we finished those we had a lovely shared lunch and then got on working our own projects.   I got 3 cards made.... one for my Dad's birthday ( no photo as I know Mum looks at this and I don't want to spoil the surprise)

My cards were both inspired by lovely lady's from the Flickr Hero Arts group.  The Teddy was inspired by the lovely Lin
Her cards are just the most delightful ever.  I just loving seeing all her wonderful creations.

The lovely purple card was inspired by Kelly.  Her blog page is here. She also makes the most amazing cards. Take a look around her blog... aren't they just the most amazing cards.  I really liked the simplicity of the sympathy card she made here and so decided I needed to CASE it.  Thank you to both of these lovely ladies for their ideas and inspiration.

I had a fabulous day which was finished off by going out to our Family Groups' "Soup, Shiraz and Jazz" evening.  We meet at Jenny and Alfred's house to share soup ( chicken and vegie from Yvonne and Bacon and veggie from Mia) followed by two different versions of Lemon Meringue Pie ( one from me and one from Vivienne)  I did not partake of the Shiraz ( not fussed on red wine - plus I was on my own so had to drive) but enjoyed some Jazz music provided by Michael's CDs.  A nice way to round off a great day.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you all have a great week.  Take care

Caardvarks colour challenge- More butterflies

Today is an absolutely gorgeous day - really spring like and I saw the Monarch butterflies flitting around the back yard while I was sitting outside having lunch. Great for mid August. I've told you I'm butterfly mad at the moment so it was great to be able to photograph my card for the Caardvark challenge this week, outside. - hence the lovely shadow on the card where the wings of the butterfly lift off the card.
The challenge is to use the sponser's main colours of hot pink, black and white.
I stamped the butterfly ( from Stamp it set 010) in Pink versacolour - once as the background and once to cut out the butterfly. I added black gems to the butterfly and 3 gems on the bottom. This was mounted onto black card and then onto hot pink card. I offset this onto the white card stock.
Sentiment is also by Stamp it - from set 012.
It reminds of the the lovely day today.
TFL - and have a great weekend

It's been a great weekend

What a great weekend... despite feeling a bit off colour, I've had a great weekend. I got a card made for Anne from our Family Group - for her 50th birthday. - this one was inspired by Quilterlin's card. 6 of us, including Anne, went out for a girls dinner last night. Had a lovely meal and then went round to Anne's for coffee. Very pleasant ( apart from coughing all the time)

In the afternoon, Emma and I went to the Dunkley's craft fair. It was quite an interesting exhibition... there were 4 stamp stalls which I gyrated to..... one being one of my local stores - Stampzone. I missed Kaye's demo but she was doing mini demos while I was there, showing off the new Buff Pearl embossing powders. I had a $25 loyalty voucher so am now the proud owner of 3 colours (violet, blue and green) plus a new butterfly stamp. I used them today to make a topper for a mini pizza box I made in silver. I am going it fill it with wrapped chocolates as a birthday gift. I had made the purple mini pizza box on Friday. The tutorial is on Splitcoast stampers site. It is such an easy box to do but is so cute.

While at the fair, I also bought a new cover for my ironing board.... supposed to make ironing easier ( yeah right as if anything could!) and some lovely munchy seeds... a combination of sunflower, sesame and pumpkin seeds roasted in a lovely savoury something... very yummy.

Today I had a lazy morning... got up late and pottered round in my dressing gown.... got a lovely suprise in the email.... I won one of the prizes in Tiffany's giveaway on her blog - see Here - wasn't I lucky. I really enjoy visiting Tiff's site as she has amazing creations and the most gorgeous son.... he is really a cutie. So was quite excited about that, when hubby announced we had visitors..... eak.... still in dressing gown!!!! It was our old next door neighbours.... they saw hubby cleaning his car, so stopped to say hi.... Never mind - blamed the cough saying I was still a bit sick!!!!

Well thanks for visiting. I'm off to get the vegies done for tea.... nice roast chicken with roast veggies and good old carrot and parnsip mash. Yummy

Cards this weekend

So to start - this weekend has been busy for me making cards. One of my local stores (Stamp'n'Create) holds a stamp club day every 2nd Sat of the month. Here we take our work and share ideas, stamps etc. It is a wonderful group of like minded stampers/card makers.
Here are my creations for this weekend.

I also spent some time using my Cuttlebug to make scallops and circles for Monika in Germany who I have met through Hero Arts Group on Flickr.
