CCC # 1

As I mentioned yesterday I am participating in Deborah's card chain challenge .  As I have to get this done before I go on holiday ( so I can post it either beforehand or on the day after I get back) I finished this off over the past couple of nights.
As yet I'm not sure who will receive this card.... once Deborah has all the entries she will email us with the information.  I followed her sketch faithfully.... as I liked the idea of the top and bottom squares covering the base.  And of course I just had to do a butterfly.  I was inspired by Kathy's butterfly here to put the dots on my butterfly.  I used my new aqua crayons to colour this. Originally I just stamped it on  pink cardstock, but then decided to colour it.
The sentiment is from an set by American Craft.  I really like the idea of Just Because.... I like giving people cards so it is a nice sentiment to put on them.
Anyway that's it for now.... off to make cards for my daughter for her future mother-in-law and her twin sister.  Still thinking about what to do.....

Hi Dawn, I love your card - that butterfly is simply amazing! I backtracked to your blog from Tiffany's as I noticed in your comment that you have just bought some watercolour pencils. These are my favourite colouring medium and I mix and match them with versacolour inks. I have discovered that they do not heat emboss very well and can change colour. You will need a really thick paper that doesn't 'fluff' and I often use my heat gun just to stop the water spreading and causing the card to bubble too much. I'm sure you already know this but there are some helpful tutorials if you look back through the blog entries over at Hero Arts.
Happy colouring, Jo x

This card is gorgeous, Dawn! Love the colors!! For printing my digi flower, I used "normal" paper, it is 120g. But yesterday I used some cardstock to print another image and I like it much better. I would prefer that! (and it`s easier to cut out without tearing the image) Some printer have problems with that (my hubby did it for me at work, because our printer is broken:( ) I hope that helped!

Hugs,
Vanessa
