Black and White Theme

I spend a great day at Stamp'n'create's monthly stamp group yesterday... from 10.00am till almost 6pm.....I managed to get quite a bit done.... unlike some - but I most of my cards were CAS ~  a style that seems to be me at the moment....

And I had a bit of a black and white theme going on.... not intentional.... just the way it happened.  Some times I go with an idea of what I want to do and sometimes the creativity just flows.  Yesterday was a bit of both... I saw an article in Australian CardMaking Stamping and Papercraft, where the stamped image was coloured in black and white ( and shades of grey)  so during the week I had visited the Art shop and bought 4 Copics in shades of grey.  I wasn't sure what image I was going to use, so took along a couple of Penny Black clings...
Black and White

I chose this delightful mouse in a watering can... I didn't think I did too bad a job with the Copic colouring... Had fun trying to get subtle shading with 5 Copics and a blender pen...Then there was the discussion around whether to add a flower or some bling.... I had thought of adding a grey or black flower, but suggestions were that I just signed it.... which I did.... What di you think?

And talking of Penny Black, over at the blog this week, the challenge is "Tall Cards"  I wanted to make a Tall card so got out my PB stamps and the couple from "J'aime Paris" jumped out at me..... I wanted something very CAS and elegant.
PB Tall card

I have some lovely tall textured cards by Rosie's Studio that I used.  I cut one card down a bit and stamped the couple on it.  Once again, I used the grey Copics to colour, but added a splash of red onto the image ~ colouring the roses in her bouquet and the rose on his buttonhole.  I embossed the word "Amour" under them.  I edged the panel with some silver ink and then layered it onto a base.  Totally CAS... couldn't be any more clean and simple if I tried!!!!  I have also entered this into Lily Pad's challenge to use embossing.

And finally towards home time... I wasn't sure what more to do, so had a look through the stamps I took with me and saw a set of Inkadinkado butterfly inchies ~ again black and white came to mind.... a grid card.
"Live Simple" Black and White

I stamped the inches in black ink on white card and then used a 1 1/4in punch.  This gave a nice white frame round the images.  I took a black card and put some sticky grid across the middle and then added the images.  I stamped a Hero Arts inchie... from the Clear Sparkle set "My Art" and added it for my sentiment.  I finished with the black ribbon.

I did make 3 other cards and one ATC... but two of the cards are for upcoming samples on Simply Scrapping Crafts... so you'll have to wait till the end of May and June to see them.  Tomorrow I will share my ATC...plus a couple more I made on Friday....

Hope you all had a fun weekend like I did and managed to get some inky fingers. (I see those who took part in HA Flickr groups 90 min scramble did!!!!)

Take care
Dawn
