A New Zealand Christmas Card

I'm down to the last few Christmas cards to make so I was looking to do something quick and simple, so looked through some of my past year's cards and came across a card I did last year.... inspired by the Pohutukawa...  a tree that flowers in Summer here in New Zealand and is known as The New Zealand Christmas Tree....

I used Hero Arts "Big Pine Bough" to be my tree and then added a few dots of red gel pen to represent the flowers.

New Zealand Christmas card

The sentiment is from a company called Paper Inspirations that I picked up in Australia about 3 years ago.  I don't think they are in existence any longer.  It is a nice sentiment and seems to go well with this design.  I used Weathered Wood distress ink to stamp the branches.   This card was so quick that within 1/2 hr I had 3 made.

My next card is one I did for a friend at work.  It used a stamp from a Freebie set from a UK magazine.  My friend Linda has a little Shih Tzu but this little Westie remind me of him....

Doggy Christmas

I coloured the dog with Copics.  As I used some Hot of the Press paper for the background and coloured the puppy's coat to match.  A fun card.

Tonight I made two cards that were inspired by this one from Debby... just waiting for some glitter glue to dry before taking a photo tomorrow.  One is almost a CASE of Debby's.  Hopefully I'll get time to post in the next few days.  I'm very excited about my parent's arriving tomorrow afternoon.   I've got all the presents wrapped and under the tree, the room is ready and all that's left to do is go out to the airport in the afternoon.

Thanks to you all for visiting and leaving such lovely comments, I do appreciate them.  I hope you all have a great weekend.

Cheers
Dawn

Two lovely cards. I like the way you have made the first one have a NZ feel to it with the Pohutukawa. The red pen added to the big pine bough stamp works really well.
I like the way matched the dog's coat with the pretty paper you have used. Great colours for Christmas.

Enjoy your time with your parents. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.

I love these, Dawn! The graphic simplicity of the first one (we have NZ Christmas trees here in CA!) is stunning! And the coloring and use of patterned paper in the second is adorable! Anyone would be honored to get either of these gems. Thanks for sharing.
