Photo Friday challenge #2

Over at Carly's blog her Photo Friday challenge this week is "Sparkle"  For Carly, this was the sparkle in her daughter's eyes.  Quite stunning....

For me, it was seeing some rain drops on a flower in a pot on my deck.  I got done on my knees and used the Macro setting on my camera to get up close.  I then edited the photo in Flickr to crop it a bit closer.  Must learn to use Photoshop Elements 8 better.  I bought it a couple of years ago, but hardly ever use it.

Anyway here is my photo....

Sparkle - Close up

I also played around with changing the colour....

Sparkle - Sepia

This one I changed to Sepia for a different look.

I'm having fun with challenging myself to use the camera and to learn to do better.  You should hop over to Carly's blog and see what the other's have come up with.... you should see Judith's entry... it's stunning!

Today has been a nice one... had a sleep in and then walked down to Mairangi Bay ( a little village area near us) and had brunch... and walked along the pipeline ( a sewerage pipeline that follows the water line between the two bays) before heading home.  It was high tide so we had to take our sandals off and wade through the water, but it was a lovely walk.  Heading up the hill to home, hubby asks me if I had a key to get in.... Oh no... neither of us did...luckily I'd left the kitchen window open, so we were able to use a broom to drag the keys along the bench to get in... Note to self~ take keys when going out for a walk.   Later in the afternoon, we went to the beach.  Hubby to swim, me to watch and read my book.  It was nice to see some sun as it's been a poor summer so far... very wet in the North.

That's me for the time being...
