A bit of Pink and Aqua going on

Yesterday I had a fabulous day with friends.... stamping, chatting, eating....

Stamping at Sandie's place

And I had a bit of a pink and aqua (blue) thing going on..... I managed to make 4 and 3/4 cards between 10.am and 4.00pm.  Today I will share a couple of these.

I'll be your Friend

This first card uses a Mo Manning image that was free for a day or so..  I picked it up and have entered into Mo's challenge to come up with a sentiment to match.  I was inspired by Facebook for my sentiment.   I often visit Mina's blog (Pinkpuds). She uses a lot of Mo's designs (is on Mo's Dream Team infact) and colours with Distress inks.  I decided to try this as well... as you see still a bit to learn!  However, was reasonably pleased with the result.   I used some free papers from a magazine for the background and the circle matt  as well as the lacy edging which is a Die-namics die that I borrowed of Marisa.  I punched out the sentiment and scalloped oval.

Z-fold card

My second card is a Z-fold, with a half cut oval.... I'm sure it has a proper name but I don't know what!  I saw a sample at one of my LSS and tried it.  As I didn't have any instructions, I just tried it out... but when I fold it, the oval was at the bottom and not the top.... so had to  salvage it by trimming it.   I must admit to have a bit of fun making this.  Getting the die to cut only half, embossing and then making sue that my PP was cut just right... The very pretty papers are from a Pink Paislee pack.   I also stamped and die cut a Hero Arts/Sizzix butterfly.  The sentiment is Penny Black.    And here it is opened.

Hope you all had a chance to get inky this weekend.  Thanks for stopping by and visiting me as well.
