Paula's Scramble.

I was really pleased to see my friend Paula was hosting the weekend's Scramble over at the Hero Arts Flickr group... and she made it so it was 8.00am Sunday at my house... how convenient was that!!!!  Thank you Paula.

So instead of my normal Sunday morning sleep in, I was up and ready to scramble at 8.00am and what a great challenge Paula provided us with... Celebration/Congratulations.   And as usual, you needed to have a Hero Arts stamp or digi on your card.

I decided to use this time to enter Greta's challenge.  Greta is celebrating her first year of blogging and has challenged us to CASE a card of her's from the past year.   I had chosen a few of my favourite cards and finally chose this one.

And here is my take on this card.

Paula's Scramble

I started by white embossing the poppy stamp onto white card.  I added some white crayon to the poppies and then using Chipped Sapphire and Festive Berries distress ink I distressed the background.    Matted it onto a  red card.   Embossed the card base with a Cuttlebug folder.  I cut up my sentiment stamp so I could stamp it on the bottom corner.  Added some ribbon before popping my panel.

And believe it or not, after stopping for a cup of Peppermint tea, I even managed a second card.  This one was inspired by a card I saw in a magazine.  It used dies and I decided to use a silhouette stamp.

Paula's Scrable #2

I used some PP for my background.   I die cut my card with the Spellbinders die and sponged the inside with Antique Linen ink.  I then masked off the edges and stamped the Silhouette Grass stamp in Versafine ink.   I used the same technique to stamp the sentiment onto a oval die cut.  I added the black ribbon and added the pop of yellow with the rose.   Got lots of favourites over on my Flickr photostream which was nice to see.  I was really pleased how it turned out.

I had a 30 minute chat with my daughter tonight while I was doing my exercycling.... Managed to chat without too much huffing and puffing but still got sweaty... good to catch up with her and still get my exercise done.

Thanks for visiting today... Hope the week goes well for you.

What a productive morning, Dawn! Love how you cased this card - your colors are so rich and yummy. And the die cut one is so delicate and sweet. Both are really special. Congrats on the exercising - love how you multi-task. Hugs!

So glad you joined in my challenge, Dawn! Love your CASE of my card--beautiful inking & the perfect embossing folder to go with the poppies!
