HCW 2013 ~ Day 2

I'm really enjoying the class.  Day 2 had more amazing inspiring videos and tutorials.  I was able to find some time to play on Friday evening.   My card did take some time to do....

HCW ~ Day 2

My ornaments were die cut from a Poppy Stamps Die and some American Crafts silver foil.  One one way and one the other so I could back them together.  I cut the opening in my card and layer the ornaments between two layers of acetate.
The PP behind the window is from American Crafts as well and is made like a card so you can lift it and write your greeting.  The front of the card is stamped with an older Hero Arts snowflake flourish in Grey Flannel Memento Ink.

Here's another photo showing the floating ornaments

HCW ~ Day 2

I also finished off a card from Day 1.  Inspired by Joy Taylor's video using both the positive and negative pieces of a die.

HCW ~ Day 1

I used two different red card stocks and cut out my die... but didn't get it straight  :-(  still decided to continue.  I added the piece to my card and then decided it looked way too plain.  I added some white embossed dots from an older Hero Arts stamp called Raindrop Background.  I inked it up with Versamark and then write a bit off.  Gives a very subtle background and then as it was still a bit stark, added a die cut Poinsettia (Spellbinders die) with some twine and a few punched leaves.

And here is the inside
HWC ~ Day 1

I used a Kaisercraft sentiment and stamped just parts of it to stamp the words.

Yesterday I spent 7 HOURS... yes 7 hours tidying up my craft space... It was LONG overdue, I can tell you... but it's so much better now.  So more creative underway.

Thanks for visiting today... off to try out some more of the techniques from Day 2 and Day 3

Fabulous cards Dawn, I can see you are enjoying this class. I am loving all the inspiration and it has kicked my mojo back in!! I love how you have used the Merry die, I got that one last month and have struggled to use it, I will have to have another go now!

Gorgeous cards, Dawn! Love seeing your inspiration from the class! I've been there with spending hours tidying up my stampy space and it stills ends up in a mess after just one card!

Gorgeous cards, Dawn! HCW has really inspired your creativity! I think I'll be spending most of today cleaning and reorganizing my craft room; maybe I'll get a burst of inspiration to make something as fabulous as your cards!

Love both cards! TFS I need to try the floating technique, looks great. I'm taking the class too, but I haven't done any homework yet.

These cards are so great, Dawn! I can tell you are rockin' this class. I love the ornament one that acetate trick is so unique. And I love the home-spun style of your second one with that pop of the flower and twine. Thanks for the inspiration - I am not taking the class, so I appreciate the technique tickles.
