A mixed media background.

Splitcoaststampers recently had a tutorial on a Layered Gesso background which I decided to have a go at.  I get a bit frustrated with this as it take so long to do... all that waiting around for layers to dry... but I preserved and finally got it finished

mixed media card

Started by adding gesso to a piece of Tim Holtz watercolour paper.. (Just love this stuff), then added the Hero Arts Stamp in several places, some more gesso, some Tim Holtz Peeled Paint distress paint, some metallic rub, a bit more gesso and then using a Dylusions stencil and some moulding paste.

The card sat for a week while I tried to decide how to finish the card.  Today I went to my LSS and had a chat with Winsome, who gave me some ideas... and managed to sell me a die.   So here is the finished card.

Still fairly clean and simple despite my mixed media background.

Today my hubby got to use his Christmas present from me.... a class at the Auckland Seafood school.  I got him a class on filleting and smoking fish.  He has a ball and came home with some beautifully filleted and smoked fish he had done.  We had it for entree before dinner. He said they did a number of different dishes... including smoked mussels.   While he was at class, I made some flowers...

Thanks for stopping by today.  It's late here in Auckland and time for me to head off to bed.  Take care
