The lovely Cindy has decided to host a 90 minute scramble - last night I got some time (spread over about a 3 hour time frame) and finished within 75 minutes. Cindy chose a theme of a Tall/Long card.
I started by making my background. I used a silicone mat (a pet mat I got for $5) to smoosh some Distress inks (Wild Honey, Lucky Clover, Candied Apple, Wilted Violet) onto the mat and spritzed with water. I dragged my card panel through it, dried and then added more colours and layers. Once I was happy and the panel was dry I took Hero Arts Antique Background and some Ground Expresso Distress ink and inked up, wiping off some parts before stamping it twice onto the panel. I stamped two butterflies from Antique Engraving and then painted them using the Candied Apple and Wild Honey mixed with Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen. The sparkle is amazing. I had a panel of gold ink which I used to stamp my sentiment from Message with Flourish.
I'm also entering this in Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - make your own background. And also the latest challenge at A2Z Scrapbook blog - Sparkle & Shine. My butterflies are very shimmery and sparkly.
Tomorrow I'm off the the Big NZ craft fair - SENZ. Can't wait. I'm picking up my friend, Suna, on the way and then Saturday I'm back there in the afternoon to take a class. I have quite a list of some essentials and some other goodies I would like.
