The Gentleman Crafter - sketch challenge #2 - and a box

Hi   I have two projects to share today.  John from The Gentleman Crafter has set his sketch for week #2

I have chosen to adapt the 4' x 6" sketch to a 4.5" x 5.5" card.  I also changed the panels to flags.  I went with a nautical theme and chose some patterned papers from a pack called Oceania from Uniti to make my card.  I used dark blue card for my base and used a Gina K Master Layout die to cut it.  I took some silver card and a die from Couture Creations to cut my anchor.  I silver embossed a happy birthday sentiment from Altenew.  It didn't show up very well so I took a fine liner sharpie and drew around it.

My second project is an add on to the card I made for the first sketch challenge...(here)  The card is for a dear friend whose birthday is in a few days.  I got some hand cream for her and wanted a box to present it in.  Some searching on Pinterest came up with a template for a little box that it would fit into.

I used some kraft card for the box and used the same patterned paper to cover it.   I added some of the same flowers to the top with a little punched oval with a a sentiment from a Rosie's Studio stamp set.

Today was another stunner... summer has been amazing so far.  Lots of hot sunny days.   Hubby went down to the beach while I was finishing off the box.  Got a text from our son.... Grace wanted to go to Pop's Beach... so I walked down and arrived at the same time Kieran and Grace got there.  We had a ball.... the beach had waves and swells - partly due to the cyclone off the coast of NZ and swells due to the volcanic eruptions in the Pacific near Tonga.

Back to work tomorrow - albeit that I am going to work from home for the day.  No interruptions so I can check through all the emails and messages that will be there.   I'll head into the office on Tuesday .

Take care out there.
