Today is my birthday... and I took the day off work for a relaxing day. Had a wee lie in - got up and hang out some washing on my inside frame, due to it being a wet and stormy day. Then into the craft room for a bit of play time.
Recently I started following a lovely Australian, Lucy Patrick on YouTube. She makes the most gorgeous cards - and over the last month or so she has done some videos on using PET tape and washi stickers. She got hers from Jouranlsay. She had a discount code which I used and bought some.
Today I decided to try them out. I have started a Pinterest page inspired by Lucy's videos and cards and today used it as kick off point to make some cards.
First one, I used the Voice of Spring stickers to make a birthday card
I used one of the bigger stickers and added a smaller flower. I die cut a white panel with Gina K Master Layouts 2 and used a background of smooshed ink cut with a Pinkfresh Studio Fold Edge Rectangle dies. Before I laid the panel onto the background, I cut out the Honey Bee Stamps Bitty Buzzwords dies. Cut to 2 from black and layered all three together.
Next card used one of the PET tapes. I trimmed around one of the girls on the tape
And for my final card using the PET tapes. I went for the autumnal roll.
I added the tape to white card cut it with the same oval as before but this time I used a Spellbinder Floral Ovals die cut from kraft card. I pulled another of my gel plate backgrounds. This one is yellows with gold and green splatters. I used dies from the Master Layouts one to cut the panel and the background. I found a soft orange card to do a layer for both panels. The background panel was stamped with Gina K Gauze stamp with Silver Lake ink from Altenew. I stamped the sentiment in Obsidian ink from Altenew. Love that it is such a lovely dark ink. The sentiment is from an older Hero Arts set (circa 2008) called Thoughtful Messages. I finished with some off-white enamel dots from Altenew.
I had so much fun trying these tapes and stickers. Really love how they turned out.
Had a visit from my son on his way home and finished the day with some takeout Curry from the local Indian restaurant. I ordered and hubby went and picked it up. It's only 500 metres from where we live so truly local!
