Woodblock Wednesday - March 25

Finally got all the goodies back into my craft room, changed a few things around, purged some of my endless stash of papers... and had some play time.

I was ready to make a couple of Easter cards and sitting on top of the box of my woodblock stamps was a delightful Penny Black stamp.

It's called "Bunny Talk!"  - super cute.  I die cut a panel of Fabriano 160gm paper with a Gina K Master Layout 2 die and then die cut the ribbon scalloped edge die from Master Layout 18 from some gold card.  I cut it down the middle to get the both edges for the panel.  I used a mixture of Inktense Watercolor pencils and Altenew Woodless watercolour pencils to colour the image, together with some ink blending for the sky.  The little sentiment is from a Verve stamp set - Hoppy Easter.   Trimmed some pretty pink dotty paper to fit the card base and added some gold pen around the edge.

Happy to have been able to get into the craft room to play - and got a bit done.

Altenew's 31 Days of Crafting - Day 19

I pulled out my Dainty Calla Lily Mini Delight stamp and the matching die.   I started by stamping the little stamp with Obsidian ink, 4 times onto some white card and clear embossed.  I coloured then flowers with Inktense Watercolour pencils. die cut them and then made two cards.

I stamped the Calla Lily three times onto my little panel in Altenew Silver Lake.  I took one of my coloured images and added it to the panel.  Added some gold washi along the bottom.  Stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set.   I then die cut a dark brown cardstock with the inner die from the Mix & Match Frame Dies.

For my second card I used the three other lilies.

I started by cutting a black panel with the middle die from the Mix & Match Frames die.  I splatter generously with metallic gold watercolour paint.  Added the two outside lilies directly to the panel and added the middle one with some 3D tape. The sentiment was stamped with Classic Greetings Stamp and die cut with the shadow layer.   I can't recall what ink I used, as it was in the packaging, but it went well with my middle flower.  Finished with some of the lightest dots in the Warm Grey enamel dots from Altenew.

The Daily Marker 30 day challenge - Days 8, 9 and 10

I'm trying to do the daily challenge - some colouring every day for the 30 Days of June.... so far not too bad -
so here's Days 8, 9 and 10

Day 8:

A card for a friend who turned 60 on the 9th June.... Using a Bugaboo image coloured with Prismacolor pencils.

Day 9:

This one is for our friend's wife who's birthday is the next day (10th- she is a year younger)  I got some new Altenew stamps this week and used the Rustic Linen background with Old Paper distress ink to make a background.  I then stamped the Starry night stamps and used my Derwent Inktense pencils to watercolour them.  I cut the Happy die on my ScanNCut... a bit smaller than I'd have liked but it looks ok with stamped sentiment.

and Day :

This card is for the challenge at The Flower Challenge #21 - Use a previous challenge.  I chose Challenge #3 - Use an old stamp or die.  The stamp here is a Hero Arts one from 2010.  I used the Derwent Inktense pencils as they were still sitting on my desk.   Add some splatter and pencil does for the background.   Some gold washi tape completed the card.

Have enjoyed the mindfulness of colouring.  It is very therapeutic and relaxing if you just go with the flow and don't get caught up in trying too hard to get it right.

My son and his partner have just arrived to help hubby with some fix up jobs in the garage so it's time for me to go....

take care and take some time to colour this weekend
