Painted Vibrant Floral

 When I was foiling the Altenew Vibrant Floral Hot foil plate, my first one had a bit of overfoiling so I put it aside.  When Grace was doing her painting the other day, I took it, used my sand eraser and removed the extra foiling.  The paints I used are Student grade by Koh-i-noor 

I have two sets - the one above and another set of brighter colours.   Perfect for Grace to use, but also easy for me to use. 

The paints are very grainy but give a really interesting look.  This one is on plain white card (Frenchville 300gms) so not bad with the amount water used.   I trimmed down the panel to a 5" square card before matting onto black card and then onto a white base. A little blue ink that was on my blending brush gave me a soft background.  Stamped a sentiment from the Altenew mini set "Best Sentiments" and glued it onto the card.

Water colour for Card Markers - Day 1

The latest on-line card class has started.... and I'm in the class room!  So far I have watched Day 1 videos.  They arrive in my in box at 12.30ish AM! so I don't get to watch them till I get home from work and had my dinner...always behind the 8 ball for sure.  Anyway last night and after work today, I had a go doing some backgrounds.    I have some Pearlescent paints so started with them.  I tried the first technique of using some paints and then laying on a stencil.

I cased Jennifer Razza's design - using a tag die I had (freebie from a magazine) and sentiments from my new favourite sets from Winnie & Walter. 

My second card used some new Kohi-i-noor watercolour paints.  I realised I did not have some plain water colour paints in a pack.  I have tubes and pearlescent ones, so popped into the Art shop that is just around from where I work and

picked up a little 24 pack of paints in a wheel for $10.  Love how it coloured my paper.

My photo is not the best as it is getting dark much earlier now.  The background card looks orange when in reality it is a lovely deep pink.  I added some splatters of orange and white paint and then used another Winnie & Walter sentiment.  I stamped it twice to ensure that it was really dark.   The "you" die is from Simon Says Stamp.    

Still one more sample from Day 1 to do... plus two backgrounds I've done to be made into cards, but now off to watch Day 2 videos.
