Farewell is not Goodbye!

I'm here saying farewell Paula from our Die Cut Divas blog.  Due to personal reasons, Paula is stepping down from the challenge blog.

She is a woman that deserves the title "Diva".  I got to know Paula through the Flickr group of Die Cut Divas and was thrilled to assist with the challenges there and now on the blog.  I have also had the thrill of meeting Paula for real.... The first time nearly 4 years ago when she had a two week old baby!  (My, Paula, hasn't the time flown by!) and then again in September 2012 when I got to spend a whole day with her, talking and visiting her local stamp store and doing some crafting too.  I can tell you, this is one LOVELY lady.  Paula, I will miss you  on the blog, but I can tell we'll be friends long time.  Next time I'm in Mooloolaba you can guarantee I'll be popping in for tea and card making!

Here's the card I sent Paula to say thanks for being such a fabulous Diva.

I used an adorable little bee from Bugaboo to make my card,  I coloured and fussy cut parts of the been to layer. I used an embossing folder on the PP to make my base and when I cut the dies, I sponged with blue ink before removing the dies.  There's lots of Wink of Stella on the card both black and clear.
(P.S. sorry for the poor photo quality.. I nearly forgot to take a photo and had to take this on my cell phone)

I will certainly miss Paula on the blog but am sure she'll still be around on her own blog - Scappy Me

Paige's birthday card

One of my husband's nieces is having a birthday soon. Paige is going to be 14 - so I thought I'd do her a quick card. This image was one of the ones that the lovely Paula sent me recently. It is rather cute. I coloured it with my aqua crayons ( just love them). Once I had cut out the image, I distressed the edges with Spiced Marmalade ink and stuck them to the PP that I put on the white card stock. A very quick and simple card.

The rest of my day has been looking everywhere for my Fiskar scissors... They have just disappeared. I tidied the room up - but no show... I ended up going out to buy some new scissors ( got Titanium ones) on my way to the gym. No doubt the missing ones will now turn up!!!! I really like the Fiskar ones - they are more of a snip rather than a scissor... great for the small cutting out.  I'll have to get used to using real scissors again.

This weekend our son and his girlfriend are having a few of their friends around to celebrate their 21st birthdays.... A few are coming for a barbeque dinner first and then the rest are coming afterwards. I have decided that our garage will be the best place for them to have the party - so my nice clean and tidy house stays that way!!!!  I just hope the weather holds up and isn't too cool.

Thanks for stopping by and to all my American friends - hope Thanksgiving was good and you enjoyed the family time together.

Goodies this week

My mail box this week has been full.... I got a lovely big envelope from the lovely Paula. She and I have been trading stamped images and she sent me a LOT of Penny Black images with this beautiful card.  Isn't it just adorable. I loved the layout she used on the card, and she had included the image as well.  Now my friend, Sue, is a lover of anything Daisies!!!!  So I decided to have a go at colouring in the image and use the layout to make a card for her.  Sue has just passed 1 year since she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, so this card was to say - Keep Healthy.
I used my aqua crayons to colour in the image.  To achieve the look of the H2O's Paula used, I used watered down Perfect Pearls.  Then I used some yellow paper that I put through my CB to emboss with even more daisies....added a paper ribbon and strip of scalloped edged card, a couple of flowers and ribbon.    Sue just loved it when I gave it to her.

Next day in my mail box was the give away I won on Hero Art's blog.
It is the lovely Cling stamp- 3 Flowers.  Wasn't I just the luckiest.  I haven't made anything with it yet... still pondering on it, but no doubt will come up with something soon.

I won't get any cards made this weekend as we are having a family get-together at my BIL and SIL's place at the beach.  Graham as organised it so we can have a good reason for getting together, instead of the all sad ones we had in June/July.  We head off mid afternoon tomorrow.  Should be fun, even if the forecast is for not such good weather.  I'll take a book with me and get some reading done, if it rains.

Well thanks for stopping by.  Have a great weekend everyone.
