World Card Making Day - take two

Here I am back with a few more card I've made for WCMD challenges.

First up is a card for two challenges... StampNation challenge # 4  Scotland

I used some Winnie & Walter stripe stamps to make my own plaid background.  I cut the panel with a MFT die and then split it to fit onto the card base.  Used a feebie die from last year and added a little holly embellishment, I made with a Kaisercraft stamp.  Very CAS.  Entered into the Masculine challenge at Winnie & Walter.

Next one was for StampNation challente #5 Japan. - inspired by flower and Kimonos

I was inspired by the pretty pinks and flowers on the kimonos.  Used  an Altenew stamp (Fresh Freesias) and watercoloured with Zig Clean Color markers.  The background was a variety of sprays.  Used a die cut and sentiment from
Winnie & Walter.  I've also entered this into the challenge at Winnie & Walter - Watercolouring

and today I manged one more card for StampNation challenge #8 - France -inspired by brocade

I used the free embossing folder I got last week with some Red Memento ink so do a faux letterpress technique.  The sentiment is from a free set with a magazine.  It's such a great way to build up your supplies!  I used some Spellbinders dies to cut the sentiment.

And here's a picture of what my desk looked like yesterday evening.

One hot mess!  But the result of a fun few days.

Now only 4 more StampNation challenges to make to do all of them.  I've already started on #6  Australia - inspired by Aborginal art.   Then it's Malaysia,  Germany, and Israel.  We've got a few more days to enter.

WCMD Part 2

Here are the cards I made on Sunday.... 5th here in NZ but still the 4th in USA - so that was good enough for me to play again.

Snowflake border

This one used a new Couture Creations die I picked up half price from The Warehouse.  I cut it from white card and covered it with Stickles.  Just added to a red card and then white embossed a Kaisercraft stamp.  Very CAS for sure.

Photo card

This one, again a CAS card, is for a technique swap.  To use a photo on your card....I saw this photo on an email I got - you know the ones... beautiful photos and inspiring sayings.  I just copied it and put into word doc and softened the colours.    The sentiment from Kaisercraft was embossed to make it stand out.

Did get one more made but it's for Die Cut Divas and will be shown later this week.

CAS-ual Friday~ One for the Girls

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and this week CAS-ual Friday  challenge this week is to create a CAS card to celebrate the women in your life.  I've actually decided to do a card for Breast Cancer awareness

Very CAS.  The pink doily is a die cut from Die-namics.  The sentiment is a Hero Arts  Limited Edition cling from last year, inked up with Picked Raspberry distress ink.  I then folded some pink ribbon and added a little pink button to hold it together.

I lost a very dear friend 18 months ago to this insidious disease.  I would encourage you all to have regular mammograms to detect breast cancer.  Another friend of mine was very luck to have had a lump picked up on her mammogram and after having a mastectomy is now a cancer survivor for over 5 years.

Hope your World Card Making Day is full of fun and creativity.  This is my second card of the day!   But as we have been invited to join our son and his girlfriend out to dinner tonight, not sure if there will be time to make any more.  Oh well, my tomorrow will be still be Saturday somewhere in the world so I'll just celebrate WCMD again!
