Quick Card and a Mixed Media Card...

Hi.  Two cards to share from the last few days.   I've been busy crafting after work and over the weekend.

Quick card....

This one came about when I was supposed to be tidying up!  Came across my Pink Fresh Studio Washi (Artistic Dahlia) and of course, I just had to make a card.

I just love this washi - stuck it to some white card stock and then using the matching dies, cut out all the pieces - still even more pieces for future use.  I found the purple panel which I think might be watercolour powders as it's very shimmery.  I used a Gina K Master Layouts die to cut it.  The sentiment is from the Artistic Dahila stamp set.  Added the floral image and added a few pearls.

My second card is a bit of mixed media.

I started with some white card and brayered on some silver acrylic paint down one side, added a few different 49th & Market rub-ons and some metallic inks around the edges and around some of the images. Used the best tool ever - my finger!!!   Messed up the rub-on sentiment - but it's handmade!

I also made two more cards today (Sunday) but ran out of time to take photos.

Music for the Soul

Continuing with the music theme... I've got a card I made about a week ago after I got my Simon Says Stamp order in the post.  I had ordered Gina K Designs - "Music for the Soul" and here's the card I made.

It's a great stamp set.  The main image is big... fits an A2 US card base.  I used some Prisamcolor pencils and mineral spirits (Gamsol)  I really love how it turned out.  I decided it didn't need any more embellishments.

Yesterday I had a bit of a play with some acrylic paint and my gel press....

My NZ swap group this month has a theme of paint or ink... So I thought I'd play with paint.  Some look good and some a bit naff... but I've used one of the panels to make my card to send to Suna - will share when she's received it.  And made two other cards so far.

Hope all the Mother's had a great day... I had a visit from my son and Grace with some lovely chocolates for me.

Thanks for stopping by.

Boys are the Bomb at Southern Girls Challenge.

It time for another challenge at Southern Girls.  Our theme this month is "Boys are the Bomb"

DT Badge

For my card I have used an image from Mo Manning's Skateboard Schoolboy

I printed out the image, and once I coloured I fussy cut it out.  I made the background by embossing some blue/grey card with a Tim Holtz brick folder.   I then wiped over the embossing with some white acrylic white paint. I added it to a pearlised grey base card.   The sentiment is from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Entering into Virginia's Show and Share with this one.
