Invasion of the Monarchs.

This morning we woke to find out Swan plant denuded and over 20 cocoons all around the section.... and I mean EVERYWHERE around the section.....
On the barbie cover, my tomato plant, the orchid planter, the old barbie table, the new chairs on the deck and even on the wall boards of the house!  Only a day ago the Swan plant still had a few leaves ....but now~

Nature at it's finest.....

This weekend the weather has been just lovely.  After the last weekend's Polar Blast, it was really spring like.  I had my camera in hand yesterday and got some great pictures

This is one of a pair of Tui's  that nest around our place.  Hubby puts out Honey water each weekend to attach them to the bird feeder.  Tui's have an incredible song call (you can listen here)  They really are beautiful birds

Spring is in the Air

This afternoon I was sitting out enjoying some sun when I noticed the daffodils in the back garden were in flower.... Spring is in the air. So I just had to take a picture of them. Aren't they gorgeous. I'm not the greatest of photographers but I was pleased with the close up I managed to get. And this is with NO enhancements from any photo editing tools. Not bad for an amateur.
I also got this one of the cat.... he was enjoying the mid afternoon sun on the back lawn.
