Tim might be up to Day 8 but I'm only up to Day 2. This tag took about 4 goes before I was happy with it. I tried a number of different stamps and ink colours before getting this one done.
I started by stamping Hero Arts Musical background with Rich Cocoa ink and then used Picket Fence distress stain to tone down the ink. Added a Tim Holtz holly stamp in one corner and used Iced Spruce and Festive Berries. I white embossed the sentiment and to make it show up better, added a little of the Iced Spruce along the edge. For the bottom of the tag, I tore a strip of brown card and added black gems. As I don't have a TH deer die, I came up with the idea of stamping a reindeer I had onto the sticky back canvas and cut it out. Added a little bit of green and gold ribbon round the neck of the deer. I added some lace and a TH embellishment to the top of the tag.
I also made another tag based on Day 1's tag. When I was making my NOEL, I tried different sizes and colours of Stickles. Here's what I did with a smaller sentiment.....
The base tag was a reject from my first tag. I made the cones and used different papers and card for the greenery. This tag will go with a gift candle I made for the Secret Santa we are having at Stamp Group on Saturday. Here's the candle
Used Iced Spruce distress ink and the TH Holly onto some tissue and used the heat gun to melt the tissue into the candle. Hope that whoever gets it, likes it. As this can be classed as Home Decor, I'm entering into City Crafter Challenge this week... Home for the Holidays
Well, it's been a busy few days as I had a 9 hour day on Wednesday at a Forum in the city. It took me 45 mins yesterday morning to travel 7 kms.... stop start for the first 4 kms. Reminded me of why I don't work in the city.... getting into there is horrid... took 50 mins this morning. Back to my own office tomorrow, thank goodness. However I did have a lovely surprise when I got home at 6.25pm last night... my boys ( hubby and son) had organised the dinner... one had prepared the veggies and the other cooked the pork chops on the barbeque. I didn't have to do anything! Weren't they great.
The weekend is nearly here so hope you are all having a great week.
Take care
Dawn
