Barb's 90 minute scramble

Today Barb's scramble was at a very civilised time for me ~ 10.00am on a Sunday morning... I got my sleep in... had my fruit smoothie and was ready to play.  Barb set a cool challenge... to use a flower and a die cut... you could combine and make it a flower die cut!  I had a thought in mind... but it didn't really come to the fruition.   But the card I did end up with was okay...

90  min scrable

To start, I couldn't find my Neenah card so just used some card I had on hand.  I coloured the Hero Arts Etched flowers with Copics but they bleed a bit.  I tried to do the trimming of the image around the die... but think I need more practice with this.  I pulled out a silver shimmery gate card.  I stamped Hero Arts Magical background in Soft Pool for a subtle background.  Layered the die cut onto the card.

Then I got a quick CAS mini card done.  It is 4 1/4" x 3 3/4"

Take Two.

I used a Spellbinders die to make the card base.   The Magical background was still on my desk so I inked it up with Brilliance Twilight ink ( nice and shimmery) I used a smaller die and before removing it, sponged on some of the ink.  The sentiment is also from Hero Arts.  The flower was in my box of pre-made flowers.  I had used a stamp and purple ink onto some card and used a Spellbinders die to cut out the petals.  It was perfect for the card.

It was a beautiful day here, so once I finished crafting, it was outside to enjoy it.  I sat outside and read my book, and later in the afternoon, Hubby and I walked down to the beach.  He had a couple of swims and I even ventured in..  first time this summer ( and it's all but finished)  but Hubby says that it wasn't a real swim as I didn't get my hair wet.

Hope your weekend has been as much fun as mine

Love your Sympathy card Dawn, you would not know that the colour had bled very much if you had not mentioned it. Your Lavender card is lovely with that Die-cut Shape flower, now you have time to enter into OCC CHALLENGE!!!!
