CAS-ual Friday ~ dies/punches

Over at CAS-ual Friday, the challenge this week is to use dies/punches on your CAS card.  I needed a sympathy card and as I was looking for something simple but thoughtful I decided to use the challenge as my jumping off point.

I used a Spellbinders circle die to cut a mask.  I then blended some  Squeezed Lemonade distress in onto the card.  I used a technique I saw Vicky over at Lily Pad cards use.... to go round the die shape with the pen, in this case round the mask.  Before removing the mask I stamped the flowers from Stampin'Up in HA Cup'o'joe ink.  The Hero Arts sentiment is also stamped in this ink. Punched some butterflies to add a finishing touch.

I also am entering this into Play Date Cafe challenge

I'm not sure if my brown ink counts.... but my  faux stitching is black and the card is off white.

The weekend is here... so I'm a happy camper.  Wishing you a happy weekend too.

Perfect entry for this splash challenge Dawn! I love the little "stitches" that encircle your card. And, this is a really good way to make a tough card....like a sympathy card.

Sympathy cards can be so challenging, but you make it look easy!

I think sympathy cards should be left relatively simple, and you have done just that with yours.
Good idea about using the die to make your marks..I'll have to remember that!
Have a great weekend!

Hello Dawn
So,so CAS.
The image inside your circle is gentle and has movement, it emulates sunshine and warmth, using the paler hue of Yellow gives this effect, it is just perfect for a Sympathy card.
Have a great weekend.
Smiles:)
