Mygrafico Monday Feature ~ Seaside Sketches

WARNING:  Photo heavy post....

Hi all.... for today's feature we got to use this fabulous set from Lindsay's Stamp Stuff

My project today shows that you can do different things with digital images.

I did a 6" x 6" canvas....
"Now how did she do that?"... I hear you ask... well I'll show you....

First off, I made a 6x6 Word document and layered on the image.

I printed it out onto copy paper and then taped some tissue paper over the top and put it through the printer again
I then coloured this with Copics
Next I prepared my canvas by painting it with Gesso and after that dried, with blue and yellow watercolour paints.
My next step was to cover the canvas with Gel medium and then added the trimmed coloured tissue
Another coat of the Gel medium which caused the tissue to disappear into the canvas
Once this had all dried, I added the Hessian ribbon with a hot glue gun
Then I sorted my shells ( collect in June on our weekend at Mangawhai) and glued to the canvas

And that's it.. one  6" x 6" canvas completed.

And here are a couple of close ups of the canvas

Thanks for hanging in there... hope you found this interesting.  It's great to try something different.

Do pop over to the blog and see what the rest of the team came up with... and don't forget our challenge here.... lets see your beach projects.
