World Card Making Day.....

or should that be weekend for me!  As New Zealand is one of the first places in the world to start a day.... WCMD was yesterday for me... but many of the challenges in blogland were still going today as it was still Saturday in many parts of the world.  So I did some cards yesterday and some today.  In reality, I did manage lots of stamping and creating over the both days of the weekend.  I managed 5 cards and stamped off 6 images to make into cards over the next little while.  I've got to thank a lovely lady called Nancy for those.  Nancy emailed me to ask a question about how I did these backgrounds as she had just bought the Starry Night stamp.... have to admit, this little stamp had got buried in the bottom of my Christmas stamps box, so I had to pulled it out and give it some love.

Yesterday, I shared one card I made  for WCMD and here is another I did yesterday

Sending Smiles

My bloggy friend  Greta aka GG Creations has reached a milestone 100 blogs and is having an inspirational photo challenge with a givevaway.  She posted a pic of her favourite summer dress on her  blog post. Just make an inspired card and leave a link in the comments.....
Using stamps from Hero Arts, Inkadinkado and Sullivans, I started by inking up the back of the cling stamp ( NB it doesn't work as well as inking up the reverse of clear stamps) with Tea Dye distress and stamping on to the card.  Then using the stamp the right way up with Vintage Photo I over stamped.  I masked and stamped the flourish in Rusty Hinge and Black and then added a couple of little bitty stamps in Brushed Corduroy.     Added some water coloured ink to the flowers.  Sentiment from Hero Arts.  Thanks Greta for a great challenge.

My next card is super simple.

Vintage Christmas

No stamps!  Used a Vintage Postcard I got in a magazine.  These are so pretty I really wasn't sure how to use them without spoiling the beautiful look.  So I just added some ribbon and a button.

We went out to dinner last night with our son and his girlfriend.  Loved the phone call around 4.00pm asking what are you doing for dinner?  We had a great night... went to Wildfire .  Heaps and heaps of meat!  Then finished up with coffee and dessert at Botswana Butchery.

Great cards, Dawn! So glad you were able to take part in WCMD. Love the way you did the floral card; so pretty!

My day yesterday was filled with other obligations. And, today will be no different, because I always go to church and do family things, too. I am going to try to keep up with my favorite blogs more regularly now, even if I don't have time for creating anything. :(
