Christmas Banner

While blog hopping yesterday I saw Joy's beautiful CAS card on her Less is More blog ( see this post) and it instantly knew I wanted to CASE it.... but as a Christmas card.

Christmas Banner

I used my Kaisercraft banner stamp on one of the card bases I got that have preprinted borders.   Then stamped it onto four different papers from a Hot of the Press pad and cut and pieced the banners.  I then stamped the sentiment in red and black.  I edged the red Merry with a fine-liner pen.  I then did some dry embossing around the edge.    A quick and simple card.

I've added this to the Gallery at Holiday Cards Workshop as the use of embossing edging is one of the techniques we learnt in class.

I had a great weekend, managing to get some play time with my stamps and going to visit my son and his girlfriend yesterday.  And see his new pet

He loves Turtles..... has paintings, ornaments and now Lola ~ a little red neck turtle.   His girlfriend found the turtle outside her work.   They think she was abandoned in a near by creek as she was a bit stressed.  So now he's a very happy chappy.

Well it's bed time now.... or a least time to head to bed to get some reading done before lights out!

I am crazy about banners, but hardly ever use them. These are wonderful - they set off that snappy sentiment so perfectly. And those scored edges - rich! Love that cute turtle - I had one about that size when I was 10. Amazing creatures!

Hello Dawn
This is a gorgeous clean card that has all the traditional colours of Christmas, your banner is excellent, and scoring the card has added just enough interest not to overpower your design. The sentiment finishes it off perfectly.
