Triptych scramble

Today it was a 90 minute challenge over at Hero Arts Flickr group.   Kim in Perth Australia got up super early (5am her time) to host the scramble.  That meant it was 10.00am at my time... I had been out to a cafe for breakfast with hubby and got back at 10.15 and saw her challenge.... make a Triptych styled card or set of three ATC's.

I knew straight away what I wanted to do.  I had my distress markers on my desk so pulled out some water colour paper and got started.

Coloured up my all time favourite Poppy Stamp from Hero Arts with the distress markers and spritzed with water.  I then used the distress markers to colour and paint the image.  I then splattered green and red ink over the whole panel.  I then cut into three pieces and mounted them over a maroon panel.  I added the sentiment on vellum.   The stamping, colouring and putting together took 30 minutes and then another 10 to photograph, edit and upload.

I then, decided to keep going..  I had in mind to do a set of ATC's but was running short of time...

I stamped the background stamp one and half times across an A5 sheet of textured card stock.  I then trimmed it to 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 inches, before sponging with distress inks.  I then embossed the sentiment with clear ink over Aged Mahogany ink.  I was running short of time so rather than mount each one individually onto black card, I just added to a DL sized card base.

It's a long weekend here, so I spend some more time stamping yesterday and today  More DT work and a few more Christmas cards.  I've purchased the online class at StampNation and have been trying out some of the techniques and ideas.  More later in the week.

Love all the cards, but the one that calls to me is your last DL sized card base.
