CAS(E) this Sketch # 253 and Altenew Inspiration Jan 2018

I have finally set up my new ScanNCut machine... and am starting to play.

Today I saw a sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch that looked so nice and easy to do.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHa1aIiy54JdSQjYfwspRy7qgNoOzgw8YlazjUGmnlmpJ75M0mPS8RZrbNF0dnLLSAoTrwBFHylxu4umLs5jDpvlp9W3zQKUzO66g_vyJ7XUGiv4S3xn870tE2mkL8oKQBfkcV7lPs4VKy/s1600/CTS_253.jpg

Just love the simplicity of the sketch.  Right up my alley for sure.   I decided I wanted to do a sort of wallpaper look to the top portion.   So out came some Altenew flowers (Amazing You set) and some masking tape....

I also stamped one flower and two leaves onto some card and coloured in with Prismacolor pencils.  My new machine got a try out, cutting them out.  Made the border a tad too large, but that was okay.  All in all - awesome! I popped the cut out flower and leaves on some mounting tape.   I really like how this turned out.

The colours are taken from the Altenew Inspiration for Jan 2018

As this is an encouragement card I am also adding it to the challenge at CASology - cue word Encouragement

And also the "Something New" Challenge at Simon Says Stamp.  - using my new ScanNCut is my something new!

Off to try some more stamping, colouring and cutting...

Go Wild

As I was blog hopping over the last couple of days I saw that CASology Cue card was SAFARI
I knew what I wanted to do... and the set I would use and finally this afternoon after work I managed to get it done.

The stamp and the embossing folder came recently with one of my Papercraft magazines.  I started by using a Simon Says Stamp circle die and embossed it with the folder.  I then used three Oxide inks to sponge over it and gave it a spritz with water.   I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the little adventurer and his giraffe friend.   These got popped up off the panel,

I've also entered this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - For a Child

CAS Pink and Yellow

Over the past couple of days I have made a couple of cards for CAS challenges.

The first card was for Addicted to CAS - Pink.

It is a Stampin' Up set called Beautiful You.  I used some Stampin' Up kraft card

And I did a Yellow version

This one has been entered into the CASology Challenge - Cue word WARM.   The lovely yellow colour spells Summer to me - warm weather and sunshine.
EDITED:  was lucky enough to be an Honorable Mention for this yellow card

My intention is to make a few more in different colours to make a set to give to a friend.  I love the Prismacolor pencils on kraft card... it really pops.

Thanks for stopping by.

Flower Blooms

This week I was asked to make a 60th birthday card for a friend of a friend.... as I don't know this person, I decided CAS flowers would do the trick.

I used one of the flowers in the Clearly Besotted set " Take Good Care" and white embossed onto some cream watercolour paper after printing the sentiment on the computer.  I used my Koh-i-noor watercolour paints and a wet on wet technique to colour.  Love how this gives lots of shading and colour dimension. Finished with some splatters of the paints to balance the card.

I am entering this intoo CASology this week - cue being Blossom

Thanks for visiting.

Happy Everything.

The cue word at CAS-ology this challenge is Flower.  I'm a fan of CAS cards so I thought I'd have a go.  I have a new die from Couture Creations that I hadn't used.  It is a rose  so I used it for my card.

CAS-olgy - Cue word Flower

I die cut the rose once from orange and once from green card.  I then trimmed the stem off and added to the rose.  I layered onto some peachy card then onto a white base.  I added the Winnie & Walter sentiment which I gold embossed.  Added a few dots of Stickles.

I was a really like how it turned out.

Thanks again to all my followers and those who leave me a message.  I appreciate all of you.

Silhoutte challenge at CASology

Over at CASology this week, the cue word is SILHOUETTE.  I had pinned a card recently that had a cat silhouette and it gave me an idea.  I have one cat stamp that is almost a silhouette.  I thought it might just work.

CAS-ology #61 Silhouette

I stamped the cat with Archival Black ink and then added a strip of scalloped punched card and some faux stitching.  The silhouette leaves are by Sizzix.  I finished with a sentiment from Hero Arts.   A very CAS card and hopefully the car is a good enough silhouette.

Hubby arrived home from Singapore feeling very tired so got send to bed at mid-day to have a nap.  He does not sleep well on long haul flights and this one was an overnighter.  He did get a couple of hours which was good as we had to go out to a 60th birthday.  The one I made my exploding box for.

Explosion box

Sheryl really loved it and was very surprised as she didn't know that I had got the photos from her hubby.

Something a little green

Last week's word over at CASology was GREEN.   I played around with some ideas...and came up with this

CASology ~ Green

I stamped the Inkadinkado bird with Archival Coffee ink and then laid a negative mask and stamped the Hero Arts wood design background.  I then I distressed with two shades of distress inks.   I then stamped the Hero Arts sentiment.  I edged the panel with distress and layered it onto the card base.

My bags are packed and I'm already to go.... off tomorrow evening to Australia.... Mooloolaba here we come!  I hope to get to meet up with Paula who lives near where we are going.

So I won't be able to do much blog hopping... although I have a few auto posts  ~  Red Carpet Studio Premiere is this weekend.  Do pop in and visit.
