Fusion Card Challenge #15

Thought I'd try a Fusion card today... something a little different for Christmas

I started with a scrap of black card and embossed the sentiment from a new Kaisercraft set (full of Christmas quotes) and then over stamped with white ink which I then smudged over the card.  I trimmed it then added some sketchy lines and a doodle in the corner.  I mounted on some brown card that had been coloured to imitate wood with two distress inks. I cut my PP with one of the curved dies from Spellbinders and added to a Neenah Desert Storm cut to a base.  This is a big wider and shorter than I usually use as it's a US size pad.  Instead of a banner, I used some chiffon ribbon and tied a bow.  I finished with a resin rose that I had made.   As I've got a bow on this, I'm also entering this into the challenge over at Creative Craft Cottage (this is a New Zealand based challenge blog ~ got to support the local gals)
Also entered into Word Art Wednesday challenge and over at Moxie Fab World

It was a cold, wet and windy afternoon, so I made a visit to Scotties to pick up some American Crafts foil card stock that was on special for $10 for a 12x12 pack of 30 sheets.  Half price, so pleased to pick this up.  Also got the Kaisercraft set.   Back home, I settled into the craft room for the afternoon.  Got this card done, and another Christmas card that I'll share later in the week.

Hope the weather is better at your place.  Have a super crafty weekend.

Chalkboard Art

Chalkboard Art is a great technique that is becoming popular.  Betsy Veldman did a tutorial (here) which seems to be the one people are using for their inspiration...

I've been working on some ATC's for a swap and thought I'd try out the technique on an ATC sized piece of black card.... once I'd done it, I decided to put it on a card

I did some search on Pinterest and come across Deconstructed Sketch #84 and liked it so used this to base my card on

Deconstructed Sketch No. 84

I used a Hero Arts/Basicgrey stamp set to stamp the sentiment onto the ATC in Versamark and white embossed, then overstamped with the Frost White ink.  I used part of one of the other stamps in the set to stamp the squiggles top and bottom.  The side lines are drawn with a white pencil.  I then added some of the white ink on the edges and onto the card.  I layered it onto some black card leaving a thin border.  The PP I used was from a My Mind's Eye pack.  I finished with some butterflies punched from some watercolour painted paper with a Martha Stewart punch.

I was very pleased how it turned out and will be trying it again.

Thanks for visiting today.  Hope I gave you some inspiration to try this technique.  It really is fun.
