WWC 325 Heidi's Challenge: All Things Masculine

 It's time for our challenge at Watercooler Wednesday.  Heidi is our hostess and it's an All Things Masculine Challenge. 

 My Dad's birthday was earlier this month.  I made this card for him.  It's a copy of one I made a while ago - using the last of the patterned paper pack I had from Graphic 45.

I embossed a Happy Birthday sentiment (from a magazine freebie) and added some gems.  A very simple card but Dad loved it.  He used to play golf back when I was a child - but not in plus4's like these!

WWC 267 Karen's Challenge: Anything Goes with a Masculine Twist

Hi there - time for another challenge at Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  Karen is our hostess with an Anything Goes with a Masculine Twist.  

I have a very simple card to share today - using some very old Patterned Paper from Graphic 45 

 This paper is really fabulous for masculine cards.  I added a simple embossed sentiment to finish the card.

It's the little things......

that are fun in life.....
So I have some little cards, scraplings and ATC's to share today.  The last few days I have been busy doing projects for Mygrafico design team ~ I'm about 5 weeks ahead now... so the pressure is off me..... but of course, I can't share yet....

So here's a few little things I've done

This little scrapling was made for Dana's 1st challenge.  I had a 12x12 sheet of Bazzil that I cut up into some card bases and had this little bit left.  The PP is a freebie from Mygrafico (here) It has some fun PP.  I printed an A6 piece of card stock and trimmed it to size.  The little owl ghost I had sitting on my desk as I stamped off a number of them when I was doing my H'owl'oween card earlier. Added a little scrap of orange ribbon.  This was entered into a couple of challenges.... Dana's scraplings and Wee Memories ~ Patterned paper challenge



This little ATC was for Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge ~ Men Only.  I used my new Tim Holtz seasonal distress inks...  Gathered Leaves and Ripe Persimmon - and a car panel from Graphic 45.  Stamps are Hero Arts -Old French Writing, Inkadinkado - Harlequin and Kasiercraft - Explore sentiment.

I started with some white card and distressed it with Antique Linen and Pumice Stone distress inks.  I then stamped two Stamp-it images onto it, one in Versafine Vintage Sepia and one in Versafine Onyx Black.  I then stamped the clock and wings and Time Flies onto scrap card and distressed lightly and cut out and stuck to the ATC.  Added Glossy Accents to the clock face.

Had a great time last night... luckily it was an early dinner so was home by 8.00pm ~ great to catch up with my work mates.  I will pop into the office on the 12th for my boss's last day and morning tea.   Today I've been for two 30 mins walks so feeling very energetic and vitalised.

Father's Day

Father's Day was earlier this month... 4th of Sept... while I was in hospital.  I did manage to get a card off for my Dad and sent a text on the day.  I did ring once I got home....
Here's what I sent him



I stamped the Harlequin stamp down the left side using Faded Jeans and Tea Dye distress inks.  The rest of the card was distressed with the Tea Dye ink.  The vintage car and the PP are from Graphic 45.  This 8 x 8 pad ( A Proper Gentleman) is a great one for making male cards.

Today I managed to drive myself off to have my blood test done.  Hubby was up at sparrow fart ( 5.15am) to head out to the airport to head off to Christchurch for the day.  He said it was very depressing to see the city in ruins.   Feeling a bit sore tonight so heading off for an early night.

Two birthdays...

Today (25th June) two people I know are having birthdays...
Nicola who I work with and Glenda who I have meet through stamping....

Nicola loves PINK.... her desk is covered in pink things... even her calculator is pink!!!  so I made her a PINK card.... tempered a little with cream and purple...

I found a pad of cream coloured textured card at my local Bargain store.. about 50 A5 sheets for $2.50 and this is what I used for my base card.  The Tim Holtz die was cut out of pink card and I stamped the bird with a music stamp.  The sentiment is by Hero Arts ad the flourishes (stamped in purple) are by Rosie's Studio.  I added some gems, a flower and the daisy ribbon.  Nicola really loved it.

And for Glenda I tried out a new technique I found here. It is called Faux Mother of Pearl and is quite stunning.

I used the same technique on the computer paper and cut out some Dahlia shapes with Spellbinders to make the flower.  The sentiment is by Stamp It.  As the background was so stunning, a few black pearls finished the card off nicely.   Glenda is a very elegant lady so this card was perfect for her and she said she liked it and her day was "special"
So a very happy birthday my lovely friends!!!

I went shopping today.... spend some of the birthday money... got some Graphic 45 papers  - an 8 x 8 pad called "A Perfect Gentleman"  - 10 different papers all double sided and vintage male images.  Fantastic as I have 2 male birthdays and Fathers Day while I

am away in Sept so will make a start on them.  I also got some Pearl Ex and Perfect Pearls powders, two stamps from Stamp It ( male orientated as well) and some black glossy card.  Got lots of ideas racing round in my head for some male cards... Actually finished one tonight but will wait till the morning to photograph - if the weather improves!!!   Heavy rain all day.  Just horrid.

Well the weekend has started for me... lots of housework to catch up on... son's old room to clean and the upstairs lounge where he spend his time waiting TV... and maybe even some more card making!!!
