WWC334 - Helen's Challenge: All About Occasions

Hi there.  It's time for the latest challenge at Watercooler Wednesday.   Helen is our hostess with an All About Occasions challenge.

Today I have a birthday cars to share with you.

This card was inspired by one I saw in the magazine I recently purchased.  The stamps came as a freebie with them.  The background was made by masking off a little bit at the bottom of the front of the card and then ink blended the top portion.  I then spritzed some water drops onto the background.  The daises were stamped and fussy cut with minimal colouring.  I stamped the sentiment at the bottom.

Come and join in the fun at  Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and check out the project from the other designers.  Then take our challenge and link up your project to the challenge post.    We'd love to have you join us.  You have until Monday14th February at 5 pm Mountain Standard Time (Tuesday  15th February at 12.00 noon NZ time) to link up your project.

WWC332 - Tristan's challenge: All Things Feminine

Hi there... welcome to our first challenge for 2022 at Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.   Tristan is our hostess with an All Things Feminine Challenge.

As most of you will know I love florals... and nothing makes a more feminine card than flowers.
Today I have gone with a monochromatic look.

I used an Altenew stencil called Sweet Spring Stencil.  I used two shades of blue Altenew inks to blend over the stencil.  I used some of the darker colour to water down and splatter over the card.  I finished with a few clear gems scattered over the card

Come and join in the fun at  Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and check out the project from the other designers.  Then take our challenge and link up your project to the challenge post.    We'd love to have you join us.  You have until Monday 17th January at 5 pm Mountain Standard Time (Tuesday at 12.00 noon NZ time ) to link up your project.

Also entering this into the challenge at The Flower Challenge... monochromatic.

WCC #331 Marsha's Special 3 - Week Challenge - Anything Goes

It's time for a 3 Week special at Watercooler Wednesday  - Marsha is our hostess with an Anything Goes challenge.

Today I'm sharing a card I made using with Altenew's Craft Your Live Project Kit - Hello Beautiful.

This kit has stamps, colouring stencils, dies and a 3D embossing folder.  Today I used the stamp, colouring stencil and dies.   Originally I was going to make this a one layer card... but got blending smudges so ended up die cutting the flower.  I used a doodle frame technique I saw on a video recently.  It really gives it a whimsical look.   I added some glossy accents to the flower centres.

Come and join in the fun at  Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and check out the project from the other designers.  Then take our challenge and link up your project to the challenge post.    We'd love to have you join us.  You have until Monday 3rd January 2022 at 5 pm Mountain Standard Time (Tuesday at 12.00 noon NZ time ) to link up your project.

WCC#330 - Heidi's Challenge: All About Occasions

Time for the latest challenge at Watercooler Wednesday.  Heidi is our delightful hostess and our challenge is All About Occasions.

My card today uses an Embossing folder and some metallic paints.

I used a Pink Fresh Studio's Essential Slimline die to cut my panel which I then ran it through the Cuttlebug with a folder by Darice called Large Daisy Floral Leaf.  I used some metallic paints to colour the raised image... I couldn't get a good picture to show the colours.  The leaves look grey but in fact are a green colour.  I added a little sentiment label to finish the card.

I ran an envelope through the folder as well and painted it as well to match.

Come and join in the fun at  Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and check out the project from the other designers.  Then take our challenge and link up your project to the challenge post.    We'd love to have you join us.  You have until Monday 13th December  at 5 pm Mountain Standard Time (Tuesday 14th December at 12.00 noon NZ time) to link up your project.

WWC #329- Cathy's Challenge - All Things Masculine

Hi.  It's time for a new challenge at Watercooler Wednesday.  Cathy's our hostess with an All Things Masculine Challenge.

My son's birthday was last Saturday - 13th November.  He turned 33 this year... where does the time go?  This is the card I made for him.

I pulled out my all time favourite card magazine - Cardmaking in Easy Steps "For the Boys" - It has a stamp set and some patterned papers.  I'm getting down to mostly scrappy bits now.  I took inspiration from a card in the magazine.  My card is smaller in size and uses a different focal point but I did like the design elements.  I used a piece of the patterned papaer matted onto some brown card.  The panel beside it was white card embossed with a 3D We Are Memory Keepers folder which was ink blended with some Altenew Sea Forest ink.  I also added some of the ink around the edge of the white focal panel.  The Ute was die cut with a Craft Creations Holden Kingswood die from dark blue card and inlaid with some silver card.  There's a little bit of vellum for the windows.  My son had a Holden Kingswood when he was in his mid- 20s.  His was red though.  I finished with the birthday sentiment.

Come and join in the fun at  Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and check out the project from the other designers.  Then take our challenge and link up your project to the challenge post.    We'd love to have you join us.  You have until Monday 29 November at 5 pm Mountain Standard Time (Tuesday at 12.00 noon NZ time) to link up your project.

WWC328 Tristan's Challenge: All About Occasions

Hi there.  Time for another challenge at Watercooler Wednesday.  Tristan is our lovely hostess with an All About Occasions Challenge.

I have a Christmas card to share today.

I was working on some stenciling and found this Altenew Buffalo Plaid stencil.  I tried it out with some red and green inks... but instead of flipping and twisting I only twisted... and got a bit of a different look than it should have been.  So die cut part of the stencilled peice into a slimline panel.  I matted with red card.  I grabbed a Rosie's Studio stamp and gold embossed the poinsettia onto red card and silver embossed onto some green card.  I then fussy cut the red layer and added to the green card with some dimensional tape.  I added a silver gem to the centre.  The gold sentiment is an older Hero Arts rubber cling stamp (circa 2011)  I trimmed the red panel and matted with some of the green card.

Come and join in the fun at  Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and check out the projects from the other designers.  Then take our challenge and link up your project to the challenge post.    We'd love to have you join us.  You have until Monday 15 November at 5 pm Mountain Standard Time (Tuesday at 12.00 noon NZ time ) to link up your project

WCC327 - Dawn's All Things Femininie Challenge.

Hi time for a new challenge at Watercooler Wednesday.  I'm the hostess this time around with an All Things Feminine Challenge.

Here's my card

I was playing around with some metallic black card and some gold Altenew ink.  I used my brayer to add the ink to the Altenew 3D embossing folder and ran it through my trusty Cuttlebug.  Love the shimmery look I achieved.   I trimmed it and added to the white card base.  The sentiment was gold embossed onto a flag label die cut.

Come and join in the fun at  Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and check out the project from the other designers.  Then take our challenge and link up your project to the challenge post.    We'd love to have you join us.  You have until Monday 1 November at 5 pm Mountain Standard Time (Tuesday at 12.00 noon NZ time ) to link up your project.

WWC326 Helen's Challenge: All About Occasions

Hi, time for our challenge at Watercooler Wednesday.  Helen's our hostess with an All About Occasions Challenge.

My card today was for a friend's birthday a couple of weeks ago.

This was a fun to make.  I used some Altenew Washi Tape to make my floral base.  I made my base a 6.25 x 3.25 base in some dark brown.  I added the washi to a white panel.  I used an Altenew Circled Greetings - Hello die to make my die cut.  I just cut the cirlce away.  I die  cut one in maroon and 2 in white and layered together.  The sentiment is from Altenew's Label Love.  I stamped it onto some white card with Obsidan ink.

Come and join in the fun at  Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and check out the projects from the other designers.  Then take our challenge and link up your project to the challenge post.    We'd love to have you join us.  You have until Monday 18th October  at 5 pm Mountain Standard Time (Tuesday 19th at 12.00 noon NZ time ) to link up your project.

WWC 325 Heidi's Challenge: All Things Masculine

It's time for our challenge at Watercooler Wednesday.  Heidi is our hostess and it's an All Things Masculine Challenge.

My Dad's birthday was earlier this month.  I made this card for him.  It's a copy of one I made a while ago - using the last of the patterned paper pack I had from Graphic 45.

I embossed a Happy Birthday sentiment (from a magazine freebie) and added some gems.  A very simple card but Dad loved it.  He used to play golf back when I was a child - but not in plus4's like these!

WWC 324 Kath's Challenge: All About Occasions

Hi there.  It's time for another challenge at Watercooler Wednesday Challenge. Our hostess is Kath with an All About Occasions Challenge.

Last Sunday was Father's Day here in New Zealand and this is the card I send to my Dad.

I was struggling for ideas for Dad's card.  I  did some Pinterest searching and was inspired by several different cards to come up with the final result.  I took some heavy weight kraft paper and ran it through my machine with an Altnew 3D folder (Organic Linen)  I then took another piece and using a Striped folder inked up with Catherine Pooler Juniper Mist inks to give a letterpress look.  My focal image is a little stamp from Couture Creations called Whiskey.  I coloured it with some Prismacolour pencils and die cut it with a circle die from Simon Says Stamp.   I used a Kaisercraft stamp (Occasions) to white emboss the sentiment.  I die cut with a flag banner die from Gina K.    Three small black gems finished off the card.

Come and join in the fun at  Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and check out the project from the other designers.  Then take our challenge and link up your project to the challenge post.    We'd love to have you join us.  You have until Monday 20th Sept at 5 pm Mountain Standard Time (Tuesday at 11.00am  NZ time ) to link up your project.

WWC323- Cathy's Challenge - All Things Feminine

Hi there.  It's time for a new challenge at Watercooler Wednesday and Cathy is our hostess with an All Things Feminine challenge .

My card today is full of colour and shine

I used some watercolour paper and spitzed it with water and added some Pixie Powders.  It really is super shimmery - the photo does not due it justice.  I then ran it through an Altenew 3D embossing folder - Daises,  I rubbed a little gold metallic paste over the centres of the flowers.  I madded it with some dark purple card and added to a white card base.  I die cut a gold card stock hello with a Catherine Pooler die.  I found a little white embossed sentiment strip that had the word you on it, so trimmed it out and added to the card.

Come and join in the fun at  Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and check out the project from the other designers.  Then take our challenge and link up your project to the challenge post.    We'd love to have you join us.  You have until Monday at 5 pm Mountain Standard Time (Tuesday at 11.00am NZ time) to link up your project.

WWC322 - - Marsha's Challenge: All About Occasions

Hi there, time for a new challenge at Watercooler Wednesday Challenge. Marsha is our hostess with an  All About Occasions challenge.

Today, I'm sharing a Christmas card.    I've recently purchased some Sweet Poppy stencils.

These are beautiful large stencils.  I just managed to get this one onto an A2 US sized card.  They are metal stencils so I used a new magnetic embossing plate to keep the die on my paper.  I saw some ideas on the web showing people using magnetic sheets and I knew I had a new unsued plate and thought I'd try it and it worked so well.  I started by taking some Altenew Eastern Sky and Sunkissed inks to colour the centre of the Bauble stencil. I then used Crimson for the ribbons and bow plus the Holly berries, and Hunter Green and Seas Forest inks for the holly and pine branches.  My next step was to stamp some trees in the greens.  Both trees used came from old freebie sets as did the sentiment.  Added some white nuvo drops, some Stickles and a bit of gel pen to create the snow.

Come and join in the fun at  Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and check out the project from the other designers.  Then take our challenge and link up your project to the challenge post.    We'd love to have you join us.  You have until Monday at 5 pm Mountain Standard Time (Tuesday at 12.00 noon NZ time) to link up your project.

WWC 321 - Tristan's Challenge: All Things Masculine

Hi there.   It's time for a new challenge at Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  Tristan is our lovely hostess with an All Things Masculine challenge.

My card today is for my friend, Michael, who's birthday was on the 23rd of July.

A month or so ago, I brought my first card making magazine in over a year.... they just don't seem to be making it to NZ.  It was Simply Cards and Papercrafting #214 (published in UK in Jan 2021) and it has a lovely free stamp, die and embossing folder set.  I took inspiration from the magazine to make this one.    I used the little embossing folder - it's about 2 1/2" square to emboss a circle.  I then used two grey inks from Altenew to blend over and then rub directly over the embossing.  I stamp the pot, leaves, sign, fork and spade onto some kraft card and coloured them in before fussy cutting.  I used the die to cut the little labels. There is a stamp with the names, but I decided to hand print them.  I added all the elements onto the circle.  I added a strip of burlap and a twine and popped the circle over it.  I stamped the sentiment.  It looked a little stark so I added some lines of embossing done with my scor-pal.

WWC 320- Dawn's Challenge: All About Occasions

Hi there time for another challenge at Watercooler Wednesday.  I'm the hostess for this challenge and it's an All About Occasions.

Today I'm sharing a Butterfly card.

I've been trying to use up some of my pile of bits and bobs.  The frame on this card was left over from another project and the sentiment strip (Altenew) in my "Magic Mug" of prestamped bits.  I recently picked up an Oriental paper pack and this background went perfectly with my frame.  I had stamped my Altenew butterfly and added lots of Wink of Stella.  It's really shiny in real life - not as cloudy looking as the photo.

Come and join in the fun at  Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and check out the project from the other designers.  Then take our challenge and link up your project to the challenge post.    We'd love to have you join us.  You have until Monday at 5 pm Mountain Standard Time (Tuesday at 11.00am NZ time ) to link up your project.

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  Kath is our hostess this week with an All About Occasions challenge.

Today I have a little birthday card to share with you.  This cutie was the one that made it's way to Australia for my Grandson Archie's birthday back at the end of April.

Although I did not know it, one of Archie's birthday cake was themed... Train your Dragon.  So he was over the moon to get a card from his Nanny that had a dragon on it.  I stamped this sweet dragon from My Favourite Things onto some textured dark kraft card and used metallic paints to colour it.  I used a Penny Black speech bubble die to add his age.  The sentiment is from a Tim Holtz set.

WWC 315 - Marsha's Challenge: All Things Feminine

Hi there.  Time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  Marsha is our hostess with an All Things Feminine challenge

My daughter's birthday is 6th May (today my time) and this is the card I sent her.

As the card had to make it's way to the far side of Australia, I made it a while back.  At that time I had just received some new Altenew ink sets and a Layering Stencil called Hill Blossoms.  It's a colouring stencil.  I fell in love with it when it came out.  My local online store, Krafters Cart had it shortly after the release so it went into my basket, together with a Gina K Wreath builder set.  I love the wonderful sentiments that fit beautifully into the circle dies from one of the Master Layout dies.  So inks from Martian Terrain and Nature's Wonders were used with the stencil.  I also purchased the tiny blending brushes from Altenew which made it so easy to blend the small parts of the stencil.   I'll be using this one with lots of different colour combos for sure.   The Martian Terrain inks were a bit more orangey than I expected but I love them.  I had some dark orange card in my stash that went perfectly as the layer for the card panel and the circle.

Come and join in the fun at  Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and check out the projects from the other designers.  Then take our challenge and link up your project to the challenge post.    We'd love to have you join us.  You have until Monday 17th May 2021 at 5 pm Mountain Standard Time (Tuesday 18th, at 12.00 noon NZ time ) to link up your project.
