You're a Star!

The latest challenge over at PlayPaper Challenge blog is just that... plus they are having a DT call....

I needed a Birthday card quickly so took up the challenge.   A very CAS card..... some PP with stars, a sentiment with some stars and it was done

You're a Star

The sentiment is from Rosie's Studio and it was the first time I'd use it.  I simply couldn't get a good impression till I remembered seeing a tip on Kristina Werner's blog.... lightly sand the stamp.  I found an emery board and did just that.... and YES it did make a difference!  I added a bit of Copic colour and mounted my sentiment on a Nellie Snellen die cut.  a touch of gold Kindyglitz and my quick card was finished.

Don't forget the O' Christmas Tree blog hop post below  (or here) - Lots of Christmas tree goodness to view through the blog hop.

My parents arrive late tonight, so please forgive me if I don't get much posted or commented on over the next few weeks.... or at least till after Christmas.  I'll have some time to play between Christmas and New Years as I on holiday from work till the 7th Jan.  So need the break and the weather is starting to warm up at last.

Thanks for visiting today.

PaperPlay challenge week 29

One advantage of being home sick is that I can sit in bed and read the blogs!!!!!  I've got another head cold - but this time it's gone to the chest and I've got an infection!!!!  So a couple of days off work... ( even if I did sneak out to see the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra last night - which was amazing.  Beautiful music) I spend the morning in bed and got up early afternoon and made a card for the Paperplay challenge - Blue Cream and one other colour.
I stamped the Dogwood stamp with Crushed Olive and Chipped Sapphire distress inks and then used the inks to colour it in.  Edged it with the blue ink and added to a card base that was embossed with a CB folder.  Added the cream ribbon.  It didn't quite turn out how I it pictured in it my head,  but it's okay.

Have also been playing round with some new stamps - lots of half finished cards - and stamped images.  Give me something to do over the weekend.

Paper Play wedding challenge.... and a nice sunny day

The last few days have been very wet and much cooler but today is just lovely so I managed to get out and photograph some of the cards I've made over the past few days...
Last night I saw on Deirdre's blog that  Paper play challenge this week is about weddings... I had this lovely paper from a pad by Cre8tive that fitted the colours for The Play Date Cafe challenge as well... so this is what I came up with.
To get the yellow in, I added the PP to a yellow card base.

This morning I decided that although the weather has improved, it is still starting to get cooler and that means Soup!!!  So I put on a big pot of veggie soup.  And popped some bread mix in the breadmaker.... Now it was a mixture I haven't used before and I did put the amount for a small loaf in but.......
didn't expect it to be this small~~~~~   however it did taste rather nice... A multigrain bread.  and here is the soup
and this is the view from the kitchen windows....
I have a corner window in the kitchen so get a lovely view out to the garden and trees around us.   Bit gleary due to the sun shining in at lunch time.

Hope your Saturday is as lovely as mine is.

Thanks for visiting.
