Big Flower For You.

Friday I got around to stamping and colouring the gorgeous Gina K stamp - Happy Bouquet I got at the Craft Fair.

It is a really large stamp and was such fun to colour.  I used my Spectrum Noir Tri-blends to add the colour and some white gel pen for highlights.  Sentiment from the same stamp set.    I die cut the panel with the largest die from Gina K Master Layouts #12.

I can't wait to try this one with some watercolour paints or watercolour pencils.

And I did some crafting this afternoon - still a WIP -  nearly finished

Back to work tomorrow - have enjoyed the long weekend.  The weather was good , although a little cooler and cloudy.  Still managed a bit of time sitting outside in the sun reading before crafting.

Calla Lilly - Cherish the Moment.

Hi there.  Today I'm able to share one of the cards I made the other week.  It was a fun card - using up more of my backgrounds and scraps.

I saw the design for this one on Facebook - so made myself a sketch of it.   The background panel is a smooshed background.  I matted it onto some navy blue card.  The die cut panels are from a couple of  Gina L Master Layout sets and some scraps of patterned paper.   I die cut a white circle  and backed it with a lacy die cut from the navy card.  The Calla Lilly is a mini stamp from Altenew.  I used Tri-blends to colour it and the matching die to cut it out.    I used small oval die to cut out the sentiment panel.

Baby watch is still going on.  Daughter could be any time this week or weekend.  If not, she's being induced on Monday.  Daughter-in-law is just waiting for the hospital system to give her a date for her elective caesarean.   She is so ready to have this baby.  I'm on call to look after Grace as needed.

I'm busy doing some more knitting - just finished a beanie and just started a little jacket.  Just trying to find time to do everything!

Hello - enjoy your day! (Penny Black Saturday Challenge)

It's a cool Sunday afternoon and I headed into the craft room for a bit of a tidy up after Grace has been in here.   I was looking through my blog reader and saw that Helen had posted a gorgeous card for the latest Penny Black Saturday Challenge  It's Anything Goes -Optional Masculine.  Helen's card inspired me to pull out some of my PB stamps - all very old now.

I was trying out making a torn paper stencil to make my clouds.   My friend Suna has set this as the monthly challenge at our NZ swap group.  I wanted to suss it out before making my card to sent to my recipient.  So started by tearing some copy paper, and then using a very light blue ink (Altenew) I went over the entire panel.  I then took the Hello Dear Cling stamp by Penny Black and stamped in Versamark Onyx Black ink straight over the light inking.  I heat set the ink as I remembered that alcohol markers can bleed with this ink.   Grab my Tri-blend markers and started colouring.   Happy to say- no smearing. I have the Extended Collection - so the colours are not quite as bright as the original sets but turned out perfect for this one.  I used a Winnie and Walter die cut Hello and added the sub-sentiment from a PB set called Sunny Days.   The card was mounted into some dark blue card and then the white base.   A fun hour or so in the craft room.  And think I've got the cloud background sussed, even if they look a bit peaky!

Thanks Helen for inspiring me to enter the challenge.  I would say it's a bit masculine!

Gnome for Christmas.

Just love the theme of this month at Christmas Kickstart - Gnome for Christmas.

I have a number of Gnome stamps but today I chose to use the first one I got... a freebie set from a magazine.

I stamped the house directly onto my card and added the sentiments.  I then stamped the gnome onto another piece of white card.   I used my Spectrum Noir Tri-blends to colour them all up.  Once I had the gnome done, I die cut it out and added to my card.   I added a little touch of blue ink blending on the top of the card for the sky.

I was pleased to get some time in the craft room today.  Yesterday I had to go over to my son's to do my washing as my machine packed a sad last Sunday.  Today we went out and bought a new one... being delivered on Tuesday.   Hopefully we'll be able to get it in as we only just realised it's wider than the one we have - yikes!

Have a lovely Easter break.
