Thank You - at Die Cut Divas

It's the last day of the month so I'm sharing a card for Die Cut Divas.  Our theme is Thanksgiving or Thanks.

Here's my card

I used a stamp from Rosie's Studio and stamped with some Altenew Milk Chocolate ink.  I added a few spots of colour with Prismacolor pencils.  I used some brown card to cut the sentiment.  This is a old Spellbinders die

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy New Year....My Altenew favourites

I've been blog hopping with Altenew for their best cards for 2018 and thought I'd share some of my favourites for 2018 together with some I've done with new stamps - including the generous little gift from them.
#AltenewBest2018

And here are my latest offerings - using the appreciation gift

For this I stamped the bigger flower in Purple inks - using the leaf to add a layer (thanks to someone who I saw do this on IG)  Used both the leaves from the set in two green colours.  I smudged some green on my card... cleverly disguised with the purple gems..

This one caused me no end of issues.... first I smudged ink below the flowers so cut it off... next I added to a plain base, added the sentiment and got carried away with adding Liquid dots...so cut it off again.  Finally added to another panel and added some metallic tape.  Sentiment is from the Fantastic Floral Fantasies kit (More than Words stamp set).

And the last one I used the long leaf from the gift with my Wreath Builder stencil (Gina K) and some green inks.  Filled in with teeny tiny stamps from several Altenew sets in reds and purples.   The sentiment is from the Engraved Flowers set.

Hope you all had a great New Year's Eve.  We had our son and his partner and our friends Micheal and Yvonne here for a BBQ dinner and some fireworks and sitting around the brazier till midnight to see the New Year in.

Hope 2019 is good for you.

An embarrasing moment....

I had a bit of an embarrassing moment yesterday.... grocery basket full of goodies gone through check out-- but no wallet...no cash, no credit card....oopps...
Had to do a mad dash back to work (10kms) - not on the desk!!!!  Wow bet it's in the work car I was in earlier in the day....yeap - oh but there is no one in the office to get the car bag and keys....:-(   The Workplace Services desk closes at 4.30 and it was now 4.45!!!  Then Suna to the rescue.... she was still in the office and after a bit of  search we located a security tag that let us get the car key and me get my wallet,.. so I made this card to say " Thanks a million" for going the extra mile....and alls well that end well.... got the groceries.....even if I had to go round and fill the basket all over again.....
Thanks A Million

Suna was very excited to see this and showed it to her boss.... hope it helps her get a good rating.... she really saved my day!!!

It was a nice and simple card to make.... lovely PP from my stash, double punched Martha Steward Monarch with a bit of glitter glue and some ribbon.  Stamp from Sullivan's.  Inside I used the computer to write..."thanks a million, you saved my day"

So now my lesson has been learnt..... zip up the handbag so the wallet does not fall out!!!!

Only one more day till my parents arrive and just over one week to the wedding!!!!!  Getting very excited here now.... Hen's afternoon tea on Saturday - the young ones will then go out on the town  - this oldie has hubby's work function to attend.... all go on Saturday  - good thing though - Physiotherapist said I AM NOT TO DO THE VACUUMING!!!!!!!!!!  Puts too much stress on the back.... it's currently taped up after this evening's physio session,...  Great job for the hubby - yeah

Something a bit different.

I found this wonderful blog yesterday - while surfing and blog hopping with TiddlyInks.... Valita had this amazing template for an Iris fold dress.  I decided to give it a go and ended up making this card for my niece's 21st ( previous card now back in the pile!!!)  This one is so pretty I am really pleased with it.
The silver is a very shiny slippery piece of Christmas wrapping paper - but it gives such an awesome look.  I used the same Inkadinkado stamp that Valita used on her card.   ( Note - yet another Purple card!!!!!)

Tonight I quickly made a Thanks card for the woman I sit beside at work.  Jasmine came in this morning with a pile of old stamps she had and doesn't use any more.... All of them by a company called All Night Media.  One of them was a lovely Spring Bouquet and I used it to make this card.... following one of the Caardvarks sketches for this months challenge.
I coloured in the image with my water colour pencils and cut it out with Label 4 ( just arrived today) and used some of the Kaisercraft paper and die cuts that also arrived today - part of my prize from Paula for the Cuttlebug challenge last month.... Thanks Paula.... ( will blog Em's card once I get a good photo of it!!)   The top scallop is cut with a new border die from Spellbinders.

Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day... dinner out with the kids and their partners was just lovely last night, a lovely finish to a wonderful day.  Have a great week.... and thanks for visiting.

R.A.K's and a few cards

My mail man has been busy again... this time two lovely ladies whose R.A.K's arrived.
Firstly the super talented Lucy who lives in England had picked me to receive a little something..... a wonderful pink elephant card and some really cute flowers, buttons and a cute little giraffe stamp.  Thank you so much Lucy
And today I received a wonderful card from the equally talented Kathy ( The Daily Marker).  She had made this back in January and I commented on how nice it was and guess what!!! she has sent it to me...How cool was that!.. You can read all about how it was made here.    Thanks Kathy.  It is just awesome and also the lovely little cupcake stamp is really appreciated.

I decided that I wanted to say thank you to the owner of the bach we recently stayed at.  She is the sister of our friend Michael.  So this is what I came up with

The lovely flowers are from the ones Lucy sent me and the dark blue edging is from Monika.

Did a couple of other cards over the weekend, but I'm posting them off to their recipients and will write about them once they get there!!!!  A little R.A.K for someone.
Plus yesterday afternoon DH and I headed off to the Villa Maria Vineyard ( about 50 mins south of our place) to go to a concert..... TOM JONES!!!!!!  It was a amazing venue.  We had GA tickets and got to choose a spot on the grass to set up our picnic - blanket, chair, picnic basket - listen to some lovely music from The Lady Killers and Hallo Sailor while eating our dinner, followed at 8pm by Tom Jones.... For someone nearly 70, his voice is still vibrant. He sang some of his oldies - Dahlia, What's New Pussycat, Green Green Grass of Home, plus some newer songs as well.....  Total awesome!!!

Not much time for any crafting tonight as it's Crime night on TV.  CSI followed by NCIS LA.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the week.
