Stenciled Day 2 ~ Template Techniques

Day 2 had some awesome technique using your stencils as templates......... some easier to do (at least for me) than others.  But I did enjoying doing a CASE of one of Kristina's cards.

Day 2 Stenciled Class

I used Tim Holtz Stars stencil and like Kristina, used Derwent Inktense pencils to colour in the stars.  I also used a tiny star from a stencil from TCW.  I added some Wink of Stella glitter to the stars.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp!

I did try some watercolouring through a stencil but didn't quite have the right consistency and it bleed underneath.  Might be able to selvage some of it, or it might just get made into flowers or butterflies.

I also made a start on some cards with techniques from from Day 3.  Again some more successful than others!  More on that later.

And here is another way you can use your stencils

I made this sponge to take around to our friends for dinner this evening and laid my stencil on top and sprinkled with icing sugar.  I had filled it with fresh strawberries and whipped cream.  It was sooooo yummy.  (Diet out of the window tonight)

Back to work tomorrow.... after a three day weekend.  I've enjoyed have the extra day off.  Next week we have another one off... Thursday 6th.  So two short weeks.

What a great way to use a stencil - we so often think only of 'wet' mediums when it comes to stencils.
Penny Black blog had a video tutorial on using water colours with a stencil/stamps. May have some pointers for you.
Love the way you have used it on the sponge top!!
