Cards for Kids

I decided it was time for me to send my grandson a card and of course, need to send the Princess on too!

For my grandson, I made this one

A while back I made some masks for a lady from work.  She purchased some patterned material... Spiderman, Buzz Lightyear and baby Yoda...there were a few scraps left over so I saved them.  So for this one for Archie, I glued the fabric to some card and then fussy cut Spiderman.   I searched the internet to find the web which I printed onto my card.  I used the computer to add the sentiment and glue Spiderman onto the card.

For Princess Grace, I decided on a Unicorn as she loves watching My Little Pony.

I did some ink blending with Distress Oxides for my background.  Did a little stenciling with water to make the stars and spirtzed water on the lower portion.   I found this cute image on the internet.  I printed and fussy cut.   It was pre-coloured so just added Nuvo glitter gel all over it with my finger.  The die cut was made with some scrap blended piece in my box of bits.  I picked up the un-named die from a local stationery store for a couple of dollars.   Just finished with some little sub sentiments.

And I got a commissioned card for a  5 year old boy.... so my Buzz Lightyear scrap of material came into play.

I started by adding lots of colours to some mixed media paper and then adding black to make the galaxy background.  I splattered some white acrylic paint.  The sentiment was gold embossed and I added Buzz and added the name cut from gold card.   I matted the galaxy panel onto the some of the gold card.    Inside I printed " Happy 5th Birthday.  Hope it's out of this world"

Fun times making these.   Our Princess loved her card and had it with her when she visited on Saturday.

Sweet Stampin' Challenge. - Cards for Kids

It's Team Susan's turn to inspire over at Sweet Stampin' Challenge and our challenge this week is

Cards for Kids (celebrating Roald Dahl Day 13 Sept )

My card was made with some gorgeous blue/grey patterned paper for the background.  I had the die cut black frame sitting in my bowl of bits together with the little dragon.  I stamped and coloured him a while back.  He's a sweet little dragon from My Favorite Things.  I used my Scan'N'Cut to cut him out.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

Do come and share you Cards for Kids at Sweet Stampin' Challenge.

Kids cards

When I was at the beauty parlour the other week, my therapist was saying she has 13 nieces and nephews and was always looking for kids cards so I told her I'd make some.  Over the long weekend I got a few done...

This one used some MFT Snuggle Bunnies and WPlus9 balloons.

The next two were inspired by Pinterest.  Used punched circles for my caterpillar and die cut circles for my birds.

Next is another MFT bunnies and the WPlus9 balloon

And my  final card uses MFT dragons

I enjoyed making these cards and if she likes them, I do her some more.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cards for Kids.

Jennifer McGuire is holding a Cards for Kids drive - see her blog here.  So over the past few evenings I have been making some cards to send to her for some of the kids.

The first two are using some Penny Black images Paula sent me.  I used watercolour pencils to colour them in, nesties to cut out and matt and Hero Arts sentiments.
The second set are Snag 'em Stamps by Imaginisce.  They are super cute little stamps... the Lion, the Tiger and the words.... Again I coloured with watercolour pencils and used nesties to matt  as well as a bit of distress ink.  Now just to work out which child each one is for and to write something inside.

It was fun doing these and I hope to do some more. The boys are particularly hard to do cards for so the Lion and Tiger are good for them.

Thanks for stopping by... it's the start of a long weekend for me... Monday is a public holiday for Auckland Anniversary Day so NO WORK!!!! and I am going stamping tomorrow with 7 others at Lei's place...should be great fun.  Take care
