WWC 258 Marsha's Challenge: All about Occasions

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  Marsha is our hostess this week with an All About Occasions challenge

Today I am sharing a birthday card.  This came about as I was tidying up my space and found a kit I brought many years ago.  Inside the package was a decoupage flower, some card stock, an embossed card panel and a stamped sentiment.  So I quickly was able to put together this card.

I used glue dots between the layers of the flower.  There were 5 layers. The flower was added with a dimensional.  I added the pink matting around the sentiment and added it behind the flower.  A few enamel dots finished the card.

Come and join the fun.  Check out the projects that the other artists at Watercooler Wednesday
Challenge have created.  Then take our challenge and link your creation to the challenge post.  We'd love to have you join us.  You have until Monday at 5 pm Mountain Standard Time (Tuesday at 12.00 noon NZ time ) to link up your project.

29 Again?

I had fun making a card for one of my work colleagues.  Her birthday was Sunday and I gave her this one on Friday.

I got an order in from Simon Says stamp during the week and it included a couple of Art Impressions stamps.  This one made me laugh.  Val was only turning 34 but I though the sentiment (from StampNation's Young at Heart collection) went perfectly with these ladies.  I coloured with Copic makers.  Val really loved it and appreciated the thought.

I also got asked to make a card for a three old.

As I had to make it quickly, I used some pre-printed Wee Stamps decoupage sheets.  There are three layers on this one.  I found a three on a Bugaboo image and printed and cut out.   Finished with a Happy Birthday stamp.

I'm sitting on tenterhooks at the moment.   Our daughter is due to give birth any day now.  We are just waiting with our phones fully charged waiting for the call to say our grandchild has been born.  They have not found out the gender so it will be an exciting time when it happens.  I hate that we are so far away (she lives in Perth Australia - a 7 hour flight to get there) but we are booked to go over on the 14th of May to see the baby.  Can't wait!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Decoupage cards

I picked up issue #124 of Papercraft Inspirations the other day and it had a great decoupage kit ~ Hugs With Henry.  They images are adorable and the PP very sweet.    I decided to CASE the samples in the magazine.

First up I used a cute little bunny image

Bunny Decoupage.

I trimmed all the PP's and matted onto the kraft card and then after punching holes, I hand stitched around all the layers.  I did the decoupaging and then used the Wink of Stella to add some glitter to the bunny and the flower.  I added a little Cuttlebug tag stamped with the cute as sentiment stamps from a Winnie & Walter's set.

My next one used a puppy image

I used a Spellbinders die to cut the main image.  Luckily the second layer included the flower so I could have it hanging over the top.  I used a Fancy label die for the mat.  Once again, I used some of the little sentiments from a Winnie & Walter set.

I've got a third one with some glossy accents on it drying and am ready to start  number four.   As we are heading off to the beach tomorrow evening for the long weekend, I might take the kit with me.  Otherwise, I've just got two new books on my Kindle.  The forecast is for a cold wet weekend, so snuggled up reading sounds like just the ticket!
