Anything Goes with Die Cut Divas.

We have a great challenge this month at Die Cut Divas - Anything Goes.

Our lovely sponsor this month is Birch Press.

Our sponsor will be giving away a $20 gift card to the winner of our challenge.  *Note: Challenge winner must have US address.

I have used a circle slatted die to cut out from the panel.   I added a green watercolour background that was a mop up of some green blending the other day.  There is a touch of gold paint on it which in real life you can see.  I used Birch Press Prima Peony Duo Contour Layer die set to cut out white flowers and stems.  I then used the first three inks from the Woodland Escape Fresh Dye inks plus some yellow ink to colour the flower layers.   And Jade and Eucalyptus Fresh Dye inks for the stems and leaves.  Added them over the circle with a little string bow.  Finished with a little sentiment from Elizabeth Craft Designs - Build your own sentiments 1 and some little pink dots.

Do come and join us at Die Cut Divas... just remember you must use your die cut machine to die cut/emboss on your card.

Altenew June Inspiration Challenge - Inspired by Samantha.

Last week I got an Altenew die set - Petite Mountain Aven.   I had to look up these flowers to see what they looked like.   They are sweet little white flowers with yellow centres.... but for today I was inspired by Samantha Pfrimmer - the guest designer and challenge setter for the June challenge at Altenew and made them little orange flowers.

I was still not well this morning so stayed home and after a bit of a sleep in, I got up and decided to CASE Samantha's card.

I started by finding some sand cardstock for my background.   I then used some Distress Spritz Fossilised Amber to splatter the background.   Next I die cut the flower 4 times from some off white Fabriano 260gm card and used Altenew's Golden Sunset Crisp Dye inks to add colour to the petals.  I die cut out the centres with some dark cream card and used some darker Orange inks (Warm and Cozy inks) to add some blending.  Added some Gold Glitter pen to the last layer.   Used two different green card - one dark and shimmery and the other an olive green, to cut the leaves. Added a little ink blending on them.   I decided I needed something to "ground" the flowers so used the branch from Altenew's Itty Bitty Flowers die set.  The sentiment is stamped in black and clear embossed - from Classic Greetings and cut with the matching die.

I'm entering this into The Flower Challenge 103 - Add heat/dry embossing - my sentiment was heat embossed.

and also Darnell's NBUS - first time using the Altenew Petite Mountain Aven die set

Use you hot foil plates a different way.

I'm up at Die Cut Divas today to share a card for our latest challenge - Anything Goes with Birch Press.

My card today uses two different products from the Birch Press Design range.... a hot foil plate and a die set.
And I'm using the hot foil plate a little different way

I took the Birch Press Hot Foil plate (String Art) and instead of using with foil, I used it to emboss my card.   I then took my green ink blending brush and using the ink already on it, blended all over the panel but leaving the centre clear.  I then used the die from Birch Press (Prime Peony Duo-contour layers) to make my focal point.  I die cut the leaves from two different greens and then cut the flower from white card and used some different pink Altenew inks to colour the different layers.  There are two different flowers and stems.  The sentiment strip is a pre-printed one from Creative Expressions Everyday Sentiment sheet.

Do come and join us at Die Cut Divas for our Anything Goes Challenge.

Die cut Flowers Mini Slimline

I saw the the last challenge at The Flower Challenge is to use a die with an optional - slim line card.

I have a number of Altenew layering floral dies so pull out Fantasy Florals to make a mini slimline card. My base started as a large slimline which I trimmed down.

I added double embossed lines around the front of the card base.  To make my flowers I took some white card and using the mini blending tools from Altenew together with inks from the Cherry Blossom and Green Fields set plus a touch of Bamboo ink, to make the colours.  I then die cut all the elements of the flowers and the leaves.  One of the flowers was glued directly to the card base and the other one added with some 3D tape.  I recently purchased Honey Bee's Bitty Buzzwords Stamp and die sets.  I used the little sentiment to white emboss directly onto the card and then took some of the pink blended card and die cut the Love - I then die cut two more in white and layered all together.  The shadow was diecut from vellum.  I added some clear gems which look great in real life, but don't really show well on the photo.

I'm sending this off to my daughter in Australia, as she has been very unwell with a horrendous ear infection that has caused her to not be able to hear with one ear and suffering really bad vertigo.  I can't give her a hug so a card to let her know I'm thinking of her.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you managed some crafty time over the weekend.   I didn't get as much as I'd have liked, but I did get a good amount of cleaning around the house...  Cleaned the inside of the washing machine, hubby cleaned the rangehood filters, and I did the oven... at least the the racks as my oven is a pyrolitic self cleaning one.  The cycle took 4 hrs and then about another hour to cool down.

WWC231 Tristan's "All About Occasions" Challenge

Hello there, it’s time for another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.  Tristan  is our hostess this week with an "All About Occasions challenge."

My card today was inspired by an Altenew Academy class I took recently called 3D Floral Focus.  I just had to order two new 3D floral dies... and this card used one of them - Wild Rose 3D die.

For this card I started by using some cream card stock and stamped the background flowers from Altenew Floral Fantasy set using Fushia and Magenta inks.  I missed out the first layer of the flower.  I used some Firefly and Fresh Leaf green inks to stamps the leaves.  Next was some fine splatters using the Magenta and Fresh Leaf inks.   The sentiment from Altenew Sincere Greetings with the new Altenew pigment ink - Obsidian (let me tell you it is INCEDIBLE).  To make up my Wild Rose I die cut all the pieces from white card and then used the pink inks with the first layer being Baby Pink.  For the centre I used Sunkissed and Orange Cream.   The leaves used the Firefly and Fresh Leaf with Shadow Creek.    I added some dimensional tape to add the rose.

Come join in the fun.  Check out the projects that the artists at Watercooler Wednesday Challenges have created then take the challenge and link your creation to the challenge post. We’d love to have you join us.  You have until Mondays at 5 p.m. Mountain Standard Time (Tuesdays at 11.00am NZ time) to link up your project.
