With Hope

I recently joined a Facebook challenge on the Saturated Canary page.  The challenge was to make an ATC.

I used a freebie from 2012 and coloured with some new Spectrum Noir pens, some Copics and Kaiser Markers.   I finished with a hand crocheted flower.  I added a large gem in the centre.  I must make some more of these flowers. The sentiment was a limited edition from Hero Arts.

We have been away for the weekend at Mangawhai Heads with our friends.  The weather was perfect and we had a very relaxing weekend.

Ruakaka Beach.

We drove north a bit to visit Ruakaka.  Our friends are building a new house in Managawhai and visited with building company while we went for a drive around Ruakaka and Marsden Cove.   I love that we can be there within an hour and a quarter and it really is restful.

That was the challenge this week at Saturated Canary (finished in less than 9 hours)  - Anything goes using the image called "Lovely"

 

Isn't see beautiful!  I had fun making this card for a friend's birthday

I printed out the image once and cut with a Spellbinders Floral die and then again to colour and fussy cut.  I layered the fussy cut image over the die cut piece.   I found the PP in my stash... from a pack that came with a magazine, so not too sure of the maker.  Added a flower and some die cut leaves and a Peelcraft sticker. 

We've had some wintery weather and the forecast is for a big storm working it's way up the country from the south... snow down south and some wind and cold rain where I am.   There's been lots of rain over the last few days and on Sunday I had to make my way out in it as my vacuum cleaner died.... so thanks to Fly Buys I now have a new cleaner.   It's awesome.... so much better than the old one.

Sweet little girls.

Today's post is all about sweet little girls.  Both my cards today use digital images ~

First up uses a gorgeous image from Saturated Canary called Canary Love.

I printed and coloured with Copics.  Not sure I chose the right colour to highlight the image, but still practising.  I used a Spellbinders Label 8 to cut her out, and then used Decorative Label 8 in the purple for a frame.  I have Sandie to thank for the purple card and the use of the little sentiment which from  Stampin' Up Teeny Tiny sentiment set.   Love stamping with friends who share!!!!

My second card uses a Tiddly Inks image called Grow a little love.  It is simply adorable. 

I coloured Wryn with Copics and fussy cut her out.  The hearts are covered with Glossy Accents.  Today I picked up the Australian Papercrafts essentials magazine and it had some free papers.  I saw this one and thought it would just be prefect.  And it is!  I matted it onto the orange card.  I had stamped the sentiment onto the matting and cut it out, before putting  covering it with the PP.  The sentiment is from a Hero Arts/Basic Grey set called Life is Fun.  This one hadn't been inked up before, but seem just right for this card.

"Where the Heart is" @ Red Carpet Studio

  This week our card challenge is include a heart on your card.   

The wonderful creative Krista Smith of Saturated Canary is kindly giving the winner 2 Digi images  of their choice. 

 

  

The design team were lucky enough to get to work with Krista's images.  I had great difficulty choosing just one... but finally decided on Neveah

 I bought myself a couple of books on Copic colouring and one of the images that was in the samples was this one, so I had some help with the colours.  I added my sentiment on a heart and added some flourish dies and gems.

Had a lovely afternoon, meeting several of our Family Group (our Church group) at a local beach to organise our monthly events for next year.  

It was low tide but the water was amazingly warm and NO waves.... so I ventured in.  Enjoy the water~ just how I like it!

Playing with Teal.

The challenge over at Crafting your passion this week is "Totally Teal" The design team used images from Saturated Canary ( who is one of the sponsor this week)  It made me think about an image from Saturated Canary called "Nevaeh" that I have.  So I printed her out and this is what came about.

I coloured her dress with Copics - blending together a blue and a green to get a teal colour.  I topped this with some baby blue stickles.  Added some Crystalline Kindyglitz for her underskirt.  For her hair colour, I used some Warm Greys and a lemon yellow.    I fussy cut her out.  For her background, I cut a Spellbinders die and inked it with Peacock Feathers while still in the die.  I layer Nevaeh over top.  The flourishes in the corners are a new Delites die from Spellbinders.  I trimmed it so I could put a bit in each corner.  I added some little punched flowers and gems.  The sentiment from Hero Arts is stamped on a Spellbinders Tag die.   The PP is from a freebie from Katy Knight that was in a magazine from a couple of years ago.

I'm enjoying my time on my own, but do miss hubby a bit!  No-one to talk to in the evening.   Only a few more days and Thursday I have a visit from my son to look forward to.  His girlfriend is working till 8.00pm so he's coming round for dinner with me.
