Craft Roulette #192

Over the weekend I managed to get a card done for this week's Craft Roulette.  Interesting parmaters:

PROJECT - Thank you card

COLOUR - Roadside Market

ELEMENT:  Yard(s)

RANDOM: Confetti

This one took me a while  to do... So chose Christmas colours - a Christmas Roadside Market.   For the yard - I used twine - 3 feet worth (or so it seemed) and the leafy ribbon as well.  For confetti - the gems on my wreath look like confetti.  And of course - it's a thank you card.  It took time to die cut the wreath and wrap the twine around it.  The twine and leaves were originally together but it simply wouldn't wind around the frame.  I ended up untwisting them and then winding each separately round.  I glued the gems on and then used my hot glue gun to stick the wreath to the background.   The banner is from an older Simon Says Stamp stamp and die set.

All in all, I was happy how I interpreted the parameters.

It's time to do some Masking....

The latest challenge at Simon Says Stamp is all about Masking.  And I have new stamps and inks to play with.    So I pulled out my new Altenew Daisies stamp set and new Yellow inks,Zig Brush Markers, post it notes, Moltow masking pen, sentiment stamp from Sugar Pea (part of the SOA Beautiful World collection) a distress paint dauber and this is what happened!

I started by stamping onto some Canson water colour paper,  and used the Post it notes to mask the main daisy.  I then used the Moltow liquid to cover all the flowers.  I then used a blue Zig marker to do a wash of colour, added some splatters of yellow.  I then removed the masking liquid progressively and used the Inks to add the other layer to the daisies and leaves.   Added Spectrum Noir clear sparkle to the centres and splatters of the watered down Distress paint in Wild Honey.  Finished with the sentiment from the Beautiful World SOA collection.

Entered into the Mask it challenge at Simon Says Stamp

Boys and Men over at Die Cut Divas.

I've been away for a few days with NO internet :-(  Had withdrawal symptoms.

And while I was away, Die Cut Divas started a new challenge.....The most talented Hannah has decided the theme Masculine cards.... for big or little guys!   And guess who we've got as our sponsor...  none other than the incredible Lawn Fawn

Hannah has interviewed the fantastic Kelly Marie Alvarez ~ see her interview HERE

I don't have many Lawn Fawn stamps but do have the "Say Cheese" stamp set and the matching die. So I decided to see what I could do....

As you can see I used the stamp and die to make the Polaroid frame.  I used a Sullivan's stamp for my unfortunate fisherman.   The "say cheese" sentiment is from the Lawn Fawn set, the "father's day" is from Stamp It and the "Happy" die is from Simon Says.  The PP is from a MME pack.

I'm also entering this into A blog Named Hero's Mans challenge.

So we'd love to see your Masculine cards ~ just remember to use your die machine... to emboss or die cut something on your project.

And I thought I'd just share how I spend Sunday afternoon...  a very pleasant early winter's day spent at Te Aria Point.

Reading my Kindle laying on the beach

 watching a surfer heading out

and looking up at the Point...

We had a lovely long weekend at the beach with two stunning early winter's day.   Now it's back to work tomorrow.
