Anything Goes at A2Z Scrapbboking

anything-goes
January 2017 and an new challenge at A2Zscrapbooking.... plus it's also time to start thinking of those Valentine's card as well.... today I have one to share that is made with a digital flower and sentiment.

thumb nail Sendong Love

I used some Patterned Paper from a Grace Taylor pad to cover my card base.  I then printed the Pretty Blossoms Printable Digital Kit PT002 at 50% onto white card and coloured with Prismacolor Pencils and added some white gel pen dots.   I then printed the sentiment from Say it in Pieces DK030 set, before using an older Hero Arts die cut label to cut out a tag.   Added some metallic thread behind the flower.  How easy is that!  A2Z Scrapbooking has lots of Hero Arts Digital kits (see them all HERE)   Awesome for using on your projects.

Here's a close up of the flower

City Crafter Challenge #92

I was thinking about a card for last weeks challenge over City Crafter Challenge ~ using a silhouette ~ but I didn't get time.  So this weeks challenge allowed me to do so ......the challenge is "Pretty Inside and Out"  I got to use my silhouette stamp and make a pretty card...

Sending wishes (CCCB#92)

and inside

Inside of the card decorated (CCCB#92)

I bought a DCWV mat stack called "The Chateau Lavender" yesterday, with some awesome papers.   I chose one with glittery purple flowers and a soft cream background.  I stamped the Hero Arts Dancing with Flowers in Versafine Onyx Black and clear embossed it.   I coloured the flowers with markers.  I then stamped the HA Sentiment.  This lovely set was a RAK from the sweet Vanessa.   I got an email a few weeks back from her asking me to choice a stamp set.... and she kindly sent it to me.... What a sweetie.    Once I added the panel to a pale lavender card base, I added the tiny butterflies and gems  then onto the inside.... just added a strip of the PP and three little butterflies with a bit of distressing round the edge.

This is a Valentine's card that is going to be heading off to a special person... my HA exchange recipient.  Hope she likes it.

Hope you week is going well... I'm finally almost better ~ only the odd cough now and then.  Had the dentist today, one filling. Still feeling a bit tender.

A Marathon Stamping Session...........

almost 12 hours worth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Today I feel shattered..... but oh what fun.  Stamp'n'create ~ one of my LSS~ runs a monthly group on the 2nd Saturday of the month.  It runs from 10.00am till midnight..... so far I haven't made it to midnight... lasted till nearly 10.00pm last night.  We have a shared lunch and dinner ( for those left around 7pm)  Yesterday we started with 8, by around 6pm there were 4 of us left, and then Sue B and I left round 10.00 leaving two to continue.  Judi ( owner ) obviously stays too...

I had such fun... lots of talking, making, eating .... here we are

Sue and Sue working away...

 Sue B hard at work
 Glenda
 Betty with her Cuppa
my deskspace at 5pm ( 4 cards made, 3 to go)

Yeap.... I got 7 cards made, cut out an onion envelope ( still to work out what to put in it!) and colouring in an image.... so very pleased.  It was slow going to start as I have been suffering a bit of a creative block.

So I had gone to my Flickr group for inspiration, and visited  a few blogs to get some ideas.  Thank you to everyone who gave me inspirations...

First off... it's thanks to Deirdre and her lovely CAS Valentines ~ plus the note that the HA digi kit was on sale~
Love Always
I printed out the image onto kraft card ~ used the coloured stamp - looks sepia coloured.  I then highlighted the umbrella in yellow and distressed some white card in yellows and oranges to mat the image.  I then added some of my hand made roses and a bit of lace ( thanks to Sue B for that idea) and a nice big bow.
More over the next few days ~ otherwise you'd all be asleep by the end of what would be a LONG post!!!!!!!!!!!
Am off to spend the afternoon with my DD ~ a girlie afternoon of shopping... and to see the offical wedding photos....
thanks for stopping by.

A Valentine's Gift

Valentines is not celebrated here in New Zealand to the same extent as overseas so I jumped at the chance to make a Valentines Card as part of a Hero Arts Flickr Group exchange organised by the lovely Anita.....
I got to sent a card to Elise and I received a gift card from Amy

My card to Elise
Valentine's card ( WMC#40)

See this post for details

and this is what arrived from Amy

That's a delightful Hero Arts Cling stamp called Cherries and some lovely pearls.  Wasn't Amy just so generous.

Hubby arrived back on Wednesday afternoon feeling very tired.... fall asleep in his chair watching TV at 9.30 Wed and at 8.30 last night.... it really takes it out of you.... but he's back in the air next Friday.... going with his younger brother for the funeral.  They get back the following Friday...    I have been spending my time with him, so no cards made.... although I have sneaked in to the craft room to make some flowers... so my stash of hand made flowers is growing... will share some over the weekend.

Enjoy your weekend, hopefully not too cold and snowy for my USA/Canada/European readers!!!  I'm just hot and sweaty here again,..  high humidity and warm temperatures.

You know you are are stamper/card maker when............

you dream about making cards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Yes last night I dreamed about making a card.... it had a Tim Holtz birdcage die, some distress inks..... but that's all I remember!!!!!!!!!  Honestly....I can't think why other than subconsciously I wanted to take part in Barb's 90 minute challenge.... it started at 6.00am my time and I was still snoring my head off!!!!

Now talking about the challenge ~ it was "Frame It"  and you should see the wonderful entries.... go here to have a look.  I was inspired by the idea of framing that I made a card this afternoon....
Valentine's card ( WMC#40)

I was inspired to try a frame I saw on Gina K's Stamp TV as well as all the beauties this morning..
This card is really simple.  I masked off the edges of the base card with masking tape and stamped Magical background in Dusty Concord distress ink.  Once I removed the mask I edged the panel with a fine black Sharpie.  My centre circle is cut from some PP which is layered onto a white circle.  The fancy edging frame is made by cutting 3 Fancy Tags from Spellbinders, cutting each in half and laying round the circle.  I then cut out a CB little tag and stamped part of a sentiment from a HA set - it was Just for you but as you see that wouldn't fit so I just inked up the last two words.  Added gems at each end.  The whole panel was then popped up on dimensional tape.
I have decided to enter this is into a number of challenges:
Wee Memories  ~ anything goes
Hero Arts ~ masking
Pile it On Challenge ~ anything goes
Simply Create ~ Use your punches

Today is a rather wet and steamy day so staying inside to make cards and check the blogs is in order.... I had left a bucket outside after washing the floors and this morning it was half full.... that's a lot of rain.... currently not raining but very very steamy.  Hope the tropical storms pass quickly.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for leaving all the lovely comments ~ they are much appreciated.  Take care

Sweet Valentines

We do not "do" Valentines in New Zealand to the same degree as some other areas... we do not make little cards or gifts for teachers, friends etc.... but I have made a couple of cards over the last two nights.... to enter into the Hero Arts Friendship/Valentines challenge and one for Lucy's challenge.
I started by downloading the Papertrey Inks Try before you buy Simple Valentine sampler.  It has lovely sized samples on this one - perfect for cutting up and using as... you guessed it....a quilt card.

After I had cut out the Labels 8, I embossed the quilt with a Sizzix die.  I then drew around the outside of the die and hand cut it to get the red border.  I added the ribbon... and then thought about what do do next!!!  So when I decided on the label I had to untie the ribbon add the tag and retie... what a pain!!!  I had to improvise a bit with the tag as the set I used only has an opening in one end.  So once I had cut it out, I turned it around and recut so both ends had an opening.  I then matted the quilt onto the swiss dotted white card - edged with Distress ink (Worn Lipstick) and then onto a red card base.  This is the one for Lucy's challenge.

This next one might be for Deborah's January card chain challenge.... not quite sure yet ... it doesn't quite fit her sketch,.... but does fit the theme of Valentine's.  Again I used the Papertry Inks sampler to form a patterned background.  Love the colours on this set.  The image is a digi image from Heather Ellis's Pure Innocence range.  See them here;  They are just adorable and being digi can be resized as you want.  I coloured her in with a watercolour pen, distress inks and Tombow markers.  Used nesties to cut out the circle and scallop.  The sentiment was done in individual letters with a Hero Arts Clear Sparkle set and Worn Lipstick distress ink.

Well as usual a longish post.... hope it's not too boring.  Life is getting back to normal in our house again now I'm back at work.   Our son is off to Thailand this week for a 3 week holiday with his girlfriend.... a bit scary as Thailand is such a long way off.... but I suppose at 21 he is a big boy now and can take care of himself.

Thanks again for stopping by and a big thanks to all of you who make such encouraging comments.
take care
