Sweet Friend Gift Bag

Hi.  I have scheduled this post for while I'm traveling around Ireland.

It's my day over at Die Cut Divas for our Anything but a card challenge

I have a gift bag to show you.

I found this kraft gift bag when I was cleaning out the craft room the other week.  I'd forgotten I had them - not even sure where I got them!  I took some cute paper and die cut a tall scalloped rectangle with a Spellbinders die.   I had the friend die cut (a Winnie and Walter cut with my ScanNCut.) sitting on my desk.  I used a Copic marker to colour it up.  I also coloured the die cut circle.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.    I had fun making this one .

Flower Power

hi I completely forgot to pre schedule my post for Southern Girls challenge today.  So I’m lying in bed at 7.20am in Belfast Ireland to quickly show my card.  I’ve used a Polkadoodles image - our sponsor for this challenge

Monochromatic Flower card

I was blog hopping tonight through my favourite blogs and saw that over at The Flower Challenge it was a monochromatic theme.  My good blogger friend Betty had made a gorgeous card (HERE) that got my mind churning.  I was in my craft room making a last minute masculine card, but had to wait for glossy accents to dry, so pulled out some Patterned Paper, my favourite Altenew Beautiful Day stamps and some Altenew inks and made this,

I wanted a bold sentiment so pair my flower with a Catherine Pooler Design sentiment.   The Altenew inks, Mountain Mist, Volcano Lake, Lagoon and Emerald matched my PP perfectly.

Well the packing is 99% done and everything else is in order, roll on Thursday morning (albeit 4.00am) so we can get the show on the road.   Half day tomorrow at work, then afternoon tea with Hubby's niece and her family, over here from Canada followed by an early night.... Excited Much!

Suitcase Gift box

I am trying hard to learn to use my Brother ScanNCut a bit more.  I've been using the Brother Canvas to do my designs.  There are lots of free cuts available there.  Last week a new free cut popped in to the canvas files - a cute little gift box - that looks like a suitcase...

Isn't it the cutest.  I stamped the front with some Hero Arts stamps (Circa 2009)  I was very impressed how easy it was to cut out and put together.  It comes with a PDF recipe that shows you how to fold and glue it together.    I really had fun making this.

Counting down the days.... 2 more days at work.  Although I didn't make it in this morning as I've got another cold!  Coughing and spluttering all night, so spend most of the day in bed,  then resting, reading and knitting.  Another premmie singlet finished and some more little booties.

Double Pleat card.

This month at my CraftyNZcardmakers group our swap challenge was to use a Double Pleat technique (technique video http://iced-images.blogspot.com/2016/05/double-pleated-card.html)  I don't have a whole heap of double sided papers but found one I liked.

I did muck up the pleating but got there in the end.  I had some of the Hello die cuts (Winnie & Walter SVG file) sitting on my desk.  The wine coloured card went well with my PP so added it across the centre of the pleating.  Added the little white embossed friend across the O.  A few pearls finished the card.    Really happy with how it turned out.

Only a few more days till we head off on our next oversea holiday.  Ireland.... here we come.

Wine bottle Label

It's my day to share over at Die Cut Divas.  This months theme is Anything But a Card.

Our sponsor is

I have made a label for a Wine bottle.

I have used an cut file I got from the Brother Canvas.  I used some dark kraft card to cut the base.  I couldn't work out to make the inner layer so just cut it out and trimmed a little bit off the edges.  I die cut a rose (Couture Creations) from some wine coloured card and back the roses with some pink painted paper and used Copics to colour the leaves with Copic markers.   The little label is an older Spellbinders die.

I'm entering this into the "In the Pink" challenge at City Crafter Challenge

Yippeeh!

I made this card for the final day of the June challenge at Die Cut Divas and then complete forgot to post it here.... Our theme for June was Animals/Pets.

I used a stamp set from Gerda Steiner Designs

This is a smaller than normal size card.  I used the little squirrel from the set and cut it out on my ScanNCut.  The tree trunk was stamp directly onto the background..

Thanks for stopping by.

Nail Polish Marbling

A couple of weeks ago I made up some Nail Polish Marbling backgrounds.  This was a technique I saw on Splitcoaststampers.  Here are the backgrounds I made

I used Black and Neon Pink polish and added some blue glitter polish.  That one didn't mix well, but gave an interesting texture.

I made two cards out of the pieces.    First this one was for the NZ Group I belong to.  The technique was our June challenge.

I die cut an oval out of the piece.  Added the white silhouette.  The sentiment is from Kaisercraft.

The second one went to Gail in Norway as part of my CCC for June.

The background was made with some shimmer paint on a gel plate.  This was an experiment... the paint really did not work well on the gel paint... but I managed to pull this one.  Lots of texture on the background. I used the sketch

I used the same sentiment.  The zig zag piece was made with an edge die cut twice.  I used scraps of the technique pieces to cut the circles.

All in all, a great technique.

thanks for stopping by.
