September CCC card for Lizzy

I really love taking part in Deborah's CCC monthly challenges.   You get to send a card to someone and someone sends you one.   This month, I got to send a card to Lizzy in Australia.

Each month Deborah gives options for the card... a colour combo, a sketch or a theme.  For September I chose the colours - Ivory, Olive and Cobalt Blue

My card base is Ivory and my olive is Distress ink sponged through a Tim Holtz stencil.  My butterfly is a Memory Box die and the friend die is from the SOA from StampNation and is by CAS-ual Friday. The rest of the sentiment is from Winnie & Walter and is stamped with a Memento ink.  Finished with some blue enamel dots for the butterflies body.  Lizzy has now let me know it has arrived.

I'm entering this into the Die Crazy challenge at Simon Says Stamp

Inspired by Catherine Pooler's class at Craftsy.

I've been taking the Craftsy class by Catherine Pooler - Wild Cards - 21 Techniques.  It's been lots of fun with tons of neat techniques and ideas.  Here are two cards I made with techniques that Catherine shared...

First up was a technique using the back of a sentiment stamp to colour block.

I used the back of the Kaisercraft stamp and a rainbow of Memento inks to make the base.  Stamped in sentiment and added some punched stars and sequins.

My second card used a Double stenciling technique.

My first stencil was a MFT Houndstooth inked up with Tea Dye ink.  I only sponged a little bit of the stencil.  Over top of this I sponged some Weathered Wood ink and a Hero Arts stencil (Leaf and Flourish)  The sentiment is from Winnie & Walter.  I had to channel my inner Catherine as I got a smudge on it.  So out came the Sequin stamp set from Winnie & Walter and I stamped some black sequins and stars.

I've done one more card inspired by the class - but you'll have to wait a week or so to see when I post of A2Z Scrapbooking on the 6th August!

If you haven't joined Catherine's Craftsy class I can highly recommend it!  You can get it HERE.

No line colouring with a Digital Image.

Yes you can do no line colouring with a digi image.  This technique is usually done by stamping in a very light colour then colouring with your medium.  I wondered if you could do this with a digital image.  I added the image into a Word document and recoloured to Washout.  Once it was printed I coloured it... and YES you can do the no line colouring!

I used Watercolour paper to print my image and coloured with Memento Inks.  I was inspired by my friend Isha, who did a video in the StampNation class I've been doing.  She made it looks sooo easy...but I found it a bit harder.  I'm not too great at shading and blending... I used my new Die-Namic stitched dies to cut out the focal piece.

So there you are people... digi images are so versatile.
